Whats the price range on a marvel vs capcom?

Tough one to post here. You'd get a better (and more accurate response) over at Neo-Geo.com. The boards are about $50 and the machine, even if its a 25" monitor cab, isn't worth more than 150. Most of the second hand fighter cabs I have seen got really beat down in the arcade, so be careful of what you get. Check everything.

There was a MvC2 on the San Antionio CL not to long ago. I think they were wanting like $500 for it or something like that. Looked like a nice machine too.

Everyone we have sold is around 500.00 to 800.00. 150.00 for a good game in good shape is stealing or someone who does not know what they have or need fast cash. When you guys come on here for a price check you need to know that the guys telling you how much something is worth really have no clue. You need to ask a retailer because they are the ones selling more games than any for the most part. And please do not take this as being mean. I just think the guys who say a that a game like that is worth 100.00 to 150.00 is not being truthful, they would never sell thier game at that price.

if your talking MVC1 then pick up a dynamo cab and get the boards for like 100, if your talking mvc2 expect to pay at LEAST 500 unless it doesnt work or they dont know what it is.

I have sold a lot of Marvel Vs. Capcoms this year for $350-$450. When I priced them higher, there was no interest. The game uses the CPS II A/B board.

I only sold one Marvel Vs. Capcom II for around $500-$600. There was no interest at higher prices. This game uses the Naomi system. In my opinon, MvC II is probably the pinnacle of the fighting genre and if you were only going to have one fighing game, this is the one to have.

These are good prices for these games, in good working condition with a nice 25 inch monitor. You could find them cheaper if you get lucky or know operators or go to auctions and can fix problems with them. But if you are just looking to buy the game and play it, I think these prices are fair.

Keep in mind the CPS-II 18-in-1 includes Marvel vs Capcom in it's lineup.

Not part 2 though.

Anything is possible...

I've seen MVC2 games go for $350 on CL.... Actually sat for a while. I ended up putting somebody closer on it and they bought it.

MVC2 usually goes for $500-$1000ish. The hardware is rather expensive. The hardware alone can fetch $250-$500.

I recently purchased a SFIII dynamo for $250. When you consider the difference in the boardsets, you are looking at about $250 ish.

A decent Marvel Vs Capcom should be able to fetch $250-$750.

The price variation is a combination of location, luck, accessibility, and even more luck. Some say condition makes the biggest difference, but in my opinion the condition factor is overstated. Original artwork is always nice tho.

If you really want to optimize your MVCII cab, I suggest you do the following:

1. Sell your board set for between $75-$150 (price often depends on which version you have.)
2. Buy an 18-1 PCB set ($200ish)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJ2NCl5r-gs&feature=related
3. Install the 18-1.

Now you have MVC and 17 other games running on the original hardware.

Keep in mind the CPS-II 19-in-1 includes Marvel vs Capcom in it's lineup.

Not part 2 though.

MVCII isn't worth the original hardware... Just get the dc version.

PS: CPSII is 18-1 CPSI is 19-1

I guess it depends on why you are buying MvC II, can the 18-1 be used for commercial purposes? MvC II still makes money and so does MvC for that matter. More than half of the people I sold those games to were operators.

Are any multigames legal? Well, aside from Ultracade crap.

18-1 makes for a horrible commercial prospect...

Best case scenario, you do some bypassing and run each game at a time... Never give the user the ability to switch.

One thing to watch out for, is when playing mvc you gotta hold start, example:

In order to pick your assist character, you hold start and hold other buttons such as psylocke is hold start and mk, however holding start on the multis brings up the menu and therefore screws it up, and I dont know anyone who plays competitive that does not do that.

Can you get rid of the hold start to select on the cps 18in1?

bypass it...

put a short jamma extension on it...

Don't bridge the start wires...

Run a "Select" button/switch to the "Start" position on the little board... Then wire the start buttons from the CPSII end to the CP..

Not a perfect solution.
