A few years back, I spent just over $3k at a superauctions... I still have the personalized thank you card they sent me from it >_<

So, just wondering who else has spent a small fortune at auctions here?

I spent somewhere around $1400 once, but that's the highest.

Screw superauctions. Was the 3 grand before or after the 25% of fees they tag on to the finish price? What did that 3 grand get you? 1 machine? I watched some arcade owners rack up well over 100 grand on machines at the last auction I was at.

$13...and that was with the final fees added ;) I've only bought one thing at an auction, a gutted cab for my MAME project, for $10.

what the hell, don't they require you pay in cash? Thats how it goes here.. so the dude had 100k on cash on himself?

They'll take certain kinds of checks or bank drafts if you have the right documentation that proves you really have the money. Just nothing where they could get left hanging.

They will take anything that can be converted to cash; Visa, MC, Amex, cashier's checks, small children, gold teeth, ....

The most I have spent was just over $500 at the last one. Got 3 gumball machines, a working SmashTV and a working Gauntlet Dark Legacy that is in great shape.

I'm just about done cleaning the gumball machines and they should cover the cost of everything else. So, net I got paid for taking the STV & GDl away :)

Around $600. It was an estate sale for an opin Mid Michigan. I had only wanted to spend around $300, and I was at about $200 after picking up a nice working Neo Geo single slot in a Xybots cab, a Capcom Bowling that just needs the trackball rebuilt, an Arkanoid which I got for $5 and gutted and made a 60 in 1, a couple shelving units full of parts and a few other misc items. My buddy and I weren't really expecting to buy much so we had to go back and get the truck about 45 minutes away. I left my wife there to watch over the items I bought, and by the time I got back the balance was around $600. I now also owned a new BBQ, a juice mate vending machine, a kids scooter for my boys, a non working snowblower, a hammock, a couple of bug zappers, and a few other misc items as well. Needless to say that was the first and last time my wife went with me to an auction.

Around $500.00 at an auction in '04. I snagged a dedicated Space Encounters, dedicated Pole Position II, and a Warlords upright converted into Ameri Darts. All three games worked 100%.

Who was the bastard that ran the price up on "Off Road" for you?

:)

The auctions I attended (USAmusement) next started at less than $20/machine......

Ten cents? They wasted more gas transporting them to the auction!

yes, that is correct.... cents :)

i love how they broke down each game in cents ..... .30 , .10, .10 .....

at the very end of the auction they were blowing game lots out for $1 dollar. most of these games were projects, missing parts, etc. still, i think this will be my cheapest score ever.... unless its free!

Uhhhhhmm. Am I reading that correct, is that cents and not dollars?

Wow man, friggin awesome. That's what I was expecting when I went to an auction... Then games ended up going for a minimum of $500 each. Lame.
