What's the most $ you've ever found inside a game??

I picked up an all-original Stargate two months ago--monitor, sound, etc all in great shape with boards that look great (other than the expected acid damage to the battery mounts)--for $275. The seller said it was HUO for 20 years, that he had picked it up for next to nothing at auction from a Chuck E Cheese that went under, and that he always made his grandkids use quarters in it to keep the game from being beat up/overplayed. As we were tilting the game into the bed of the truck, it made that sweet, bunch-o-sliding quarters sound, suggesting there was still money in it but nothing was said (by him b/c I found out the coin door was stuck so he probably couldn't get it open, by me b/c I'm a cheap sob and the only thing I love more than a bargain is a good story).

The lock on the coin door was corroded and took a while to open but when I did I found 45 quarters from the late 60s to early 80s in the box, and, way back underneath it, an old Chuck E Cheese token from 1982 (Pizza Time Theater, long-whiskered Rat face w/o the (c) mark, if you collect them)--I've since seen a similar one for sale on fleabay for $15.

Anyway, I've seen posts of people finding new monitor replacement parts inside their cabs, but was curious what other cool stuff/treasure trove people may have discovered, money or otherwise?

And before anyone chastizes me for "stealing from a grandpa," I'll point out that he obviously knew they were in there (hence his quarters comment) and clearly didn't care about the $10 bonus given that he had the nicest, stand-alone gamebuilding--yes, not a room but a dedicated outbuilding--that I've ever seen--complete with many pins (AF, HS, Slugfest, etc.), skeeball, jukes, slots, and more (I'm sure you can hear the jeolously in my voice).

these are always great threads.
my best score was my qbert for $100 (working) with $12 in quarters in it.

some guys on here have found hundreds(usually in dollar bill acceptors)

35.00 in quarters in a game that I gave $150.00 for.

I found $18 in quarters, a handheld AM/FM radio, and a sealed raspberry Lip Smackers in the Super Strike I recently laid to rest. The cool thing is that I only traded a spare manual for it!

Found $40 worth of quarters in the coin bucket of the DK Jr. cabinet which I converted to a D2K... Paid $100 for the machine and it made noise when we tips it back and asked the guy if he had a key... He said "I need the machine gone and they aren't my quarters and probably only a few dollars in it".

The cabinet was pretty trashed, bezel was scratched to hell and the marquee was broken in half so don't be mad about me converting it.

$87.50 in my DK Jr. that I picked up for $200. The guy had cleaned out the coinbox...but all these quarters were on the bottom of the cab...must have been OVERFLOW from back in the day.

$1.50 guess I just haven't found the right seller yet.. I just hope I never find one of those Jumbo Dongs in a game I buy.. Call the Hazmat team!

Took bolt cutters to a padlock (owner lost the key, or never had it) on an Asteroids coinbox last year and found $15.

The thing had been on freeplay for a long time, so none of the quarters was newer than 1991...

Four quarters and a crack pipe in the Gorgar pin I bought a couple of weeks ago.

Chuck

$47.20 in quarters (and two dimes!) in the coin box and the floor of the cab of a Neo Geo MVS-4-25 Rev. 1 I just picked up last week.

When we tilted it to slide it into the van, they all slid to the right side of the cab. The op I bought it from said "See, you just made your money back right there. I haven't had time to even look inside the damn thing." I laughed at the time, but after I got home and counted out the change, he was absolutely right. :)

Sometimes when a game doesn't come with box keys, it is a very good thing.
