My Tempest, when totally done, will basically be the culmination of a total of 3 Tempest machines that were in various states of condition.

What's the max number of games you've used as sacrifices, to create one all-original, 100% game?

I honestly don't know if I could the answer that... I guess I would have to add up all of the parts I've purchased and assumed they've come from a working game at some point in their life... (but the question would be how much of a working game... was it already toast or did the removal of the part(s) I purchased cause it to be toast).

Probably a lot more than I would like to admit

My working MB WB came from two cabs.
I parted out the spares from the worst cab.

My 2nd Cabaret Tron has parts from no less than 6 different machines.

Could be more but I sourced parts from lots of different places. I'll be selling it in December when the movie comes out.

C'mon big money! No whammies!!

Does it count if the cab you took parts from was already stripped of most of it's parts, like pulling a coin door and Control panel off of an otherwise empty cab?
Or are you only talking about combining multiple complete but non working games to make one working game?

I was looking at it from the angle of your first scenario. Simply because, in my example, one of the 3 games really only had a CP and some minor parts left (no boards or monitor).

I wouldn't call it a "sacrifice" when the original cab is far beyond saving.
My DK started life in a disintegrating fiberboard cab and was reborn in a Ghost's and Goblins conversion DK cab, two wrongs made a right

One Super Bug game to bring one back to life again.

Same with a rotted Apollo 14 EM game, to bring another back to life and supply me with spare parts for it. It'll be going to its new home this weekend in Seattle.
