Whats the large Ceramic resistor on an Amplifone High Voltage board

Hey all,
I am freshening up an amplifone hv board. What is the large ceramic resistor that always leaves the burned spot on the board when it goes. I have one thats mounted on the bottom and i think it is a 22ohm 10 watt, but I am not positive. I couldn't find a number on the board itself to trace it down in the manual. But its the one right next to the heat sink between the two larger caps. Thanks in advance guys.

If it's the HV board you are talking about ( in the thread title you said deflection), you are probably talking about R20 and R21, 50ohm 5 watt resistors.
 
You are correct ArcRevival. I did mean the High Voltage pcb. Upon looking at it again, its the MC1 (or magnetic correction assemply) according to the schematics page. I assumed it was this huge 22 ohm ceramic resister that was soldered to the bottom of my circuit board (yes, its on the bottom solder side instead of the the parts side). There's no MC1 on the top side and I just assumed thats what it was for. Thing is, the monitor worked for a good while after I had capped it and put a new flyback on it. So I assumed it was a mod perforned by a tech who knew what he was doing and just put it on the bottom because the contacts were burned up. Upon looking closer, that doesn't appear to be the case. So what supposed to go at the MC1. Currently, the flyback is arcing to the white wire right beside it and I think it probably has a crack in it. Forgive the previous errors, but it is pretty late and this board has me pretty bumfuzzled.

OK, now its starting to annoy me. Upon looking at it again, my bet is the MC1 is "the Mystery Can" or the red cylinder in the middle of the board. The burned spot on my ciruit board is just between that and the heat sink between the two caps (C1 and C2). The burned spot is also present on a second Amplifone HV board. The 22 ohm (and what I presume to be 10 watt) ceramic resistor appears to run from the diode cr5 to the W1 which I believe is the 0 ohm brown jumper resistor. Again, its late. Forgive the confusion. I just don't know what its purpose is. And thanks again.
 
Heres some pics of the board I am talking about. The first pic shows the burned spot on the board with the missing whatever it used to be. The second pic shows the underside of the board, another burned spot and a 22ohm resistor that I would like to know why its there. The thrid pic shows where the flyback began arcing to the white wire next door right about at the end of the pen tip. Forget the last pic . Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks.

Pretty scary looking lol. That ceramic resistor needs to go, thats for sure. Looks like the jumper needs to be replaced too. You need to meter all the diodes and resistors on that board. I would not trust any of it. Meter the bu406d too.

edit: you have me wondering what the deflection board looks like.

What's really scary is this thing was working(pretty well actully). It was even left on for 24 hours by accident. I believe it currently has a bad BU406D. It was turned on when it was fairly cold one morning and I found the flyback had some condensation on it. I believe the smoke that came from the board was from the BU406D but the flyback did arc some first. I think the flyback has a hole/crack/leak in it somewhere. I have two boards, I will probably be attempting a rebuild on both very soon. And the other board is much nicer. I used this one because it wasn't missing as many parts at the time. Course, hindsight is 20/20.
