Hey All,

What is the going rate for a nice 40 in 1 cocktail table?

In an original MS. Pac cocktail cab..

Saw one today but wasn't sure if the price was good or not..been out of the "buying and selling" game for a while..

Any ideas on what is a fair price? Cabinet is in really good condition..almost perfect I would say. Monitor looked new...glass didn't have a scratch on it...the guy told me to make him and offer but I have no idea what to tell him...his asking price was $1200, which seemed fair considering I remember them going for much more than that years ago..

Thanks for any input!

that's way too high for a collector

dude you can buy a 60 in 1 board and get a _______ to jamma adapter and play 60 in almost any cab.

I paid 900 for a retail / new 60-n-1 cocktail.

All parts including the raster monitor new. This is a typical vendor / retail outlet. It came with warranty etc. I paid a lot but it is a nice machine.

Collector I know that were selling 60 in ones in slightly lesser condition than you mention were getting $800 for them a year and a half ago. I think the market has slipped a bit since then. I would say $600-700. That's what I would expect to sell one to a person who knew nothing about arcade games for. If I were buying or selling to another collector I would think $300-500 range.

Except that he wants it in a minty looking Ms. Pac cocktail.

Also take into account that he's in Cali where prices are higher for certain items.

And yes, the price is too high if you can MAKE ONE YOURSELF, but if you can't then you must pay someone who can or did. Around here the $1200 price wouldn't be out of line if it looked new. If you can get it for $800, then great, but I'm guessing he wants at least $1000 for it.

If you don't know much about building these things yourself, you'll never be able to find a cheaper cab and make your own and have it be as nice as what he is selling. It will play the same, of course, but you have to decide how important the cab and condition are to you.

As for retail, my boss wouldn't sell a converted Ms. Pac multi that looked new for under $2000....

cocktail 60 in 1's suck. They almost NEVER have trackballs, and they take up too much room.

I know people buy them, but people buy all kinds of crap. You can build an upright for under $600 with trackball.

More specific

Sorry....guess I could have been more specific..this purchase isn't for me...its for my bro-in-law...

He just bought a new house and he wants a cocktail table...but his wife wants one in a Ms. Pac cab...told him I could build him one but then he started asking for too many specific things (like he wanted stained cherry wood to match his pool table..stuff like that)...

Anyway..I don't have the time to work on my OWN machines..let alone one for him..LOL

So, told him I would keep a look out for one because I didn't see original Ms. pac tables very often...long story short...was up in Auburn today at a friends lake house..his Dad has a 40 in 1 in an almost minty looking Ms. Pac cocktail...told him that my wife's brother was looking for one..he said "I would sell it for $1200..but not sure if that is too high or too low.." I told him I didn't know and would get back to him..

I shot my bro-in-law the guys email address...guess I will let them hash it out...hehe

Thanks for all the input though! I appreciate it!...
