What's the going rate for a Batman Forever?

Ugh, you guys are awful haha. I'm guessing it's a really good deal and that I'm stupid for not getting it.

Well, if it's any consolation........if that DMD does have issues, or when it shit cans.......You just saved yourself $500.:D

Edward

Yeah, yeah, I'm dumb for passing it up, but like I said, that's basically ALL of my spare change. I did forward the guys contact info to a couple people on here who were interested, so at least if I don't get it, a fellow KLOV'er will.

thats cool,

as mike would say(american pickers) "the time to buy something is when you see it"
been saying the same for a while, because most of the time, its not there when you go back

First off I hate you :p

Games like that never go for those prices around here.

Uh, yes they do. :) But you have to be willing to travel somewhat, if you just stay within a 20 mile radius of your town you're never going to get a good deal. I'm from KC, and the last games I've sold were:

Wheel of Fortune HUO (still had goodie bag stapled inside): $2800 (took 3 weeks to sell)
Whitewater (traded with cash for WoF) but probably valued ~$2k (took a month)
Whirlwind $900 (sold for a friend) (took a day)
Who Dunnit $750 (sold for a friend) (took a couple weeks)
TSPP off route but shopped $2800 (took a day)
Batman Forever $1500 (which originally came from NEBRASKA, lol, this is the one Stangbat bought from me) (took a week or two)
Tommy $1500 with extra playfield (took a week)
Jurassic Park $1200 pretty nice (took a couple weeks)
Twilight Zone $2700 with new decals/plastics/clock/etc included (took a month)

Those were all in the last year except Tommy. Not sure where in Nebraska you are, but you can't be that far from KC--I think my prices were pretty decent, and it's not like they disappeared right away...they were all on craigslist for sure. Btw, of those games I owned above, the number that came from KC...2. So I traveled to get all of those games.

That's a bit of a surprise. I could probably sell 5 at that price on the first day. Maybe more.

Let me say I agree with you 100% Lindsey. TZ's in shitty routed shape typically bring that kind of money. Notice I said typically - NOT FACT.

This is a PRIME example of how subjective prices are. Just because someone picks up a machine "let's say a TZ" for $1200 doesn't mean the typical price is $1200. Why anyone would have this train of thought truly bewilders me?!

You guys arguing over price is ridiculous. Some areas over flow with games while others suffer. Which area do you think a pin is going to bring more money in? Supply and demand guys - plain and simple. Common sense should prevail.

I can sit here and tell you guys what I "typically" see for prices on machines in the great NW where I live, or other people can sit there and tell me what they "typically" see in their area. But let's stop trying to stick our chests out and be "knowitalls or the pinball price police authorities" and let sites that track REAL data tell the tale.
You want to see what people are willing to pay then use one of these two:

http://pinpedia.com

And the comment about passing the machine up to buy two cheaper machines made me split a gut. Please use the links I provided to get a handle on what pins "typically" go for. $1K will "typically" buy you two EM's or a couple terribly trashed SS's. And since you're new to the pin world, do your research because over paying for a machine doesn't constitute you trying to resell it for more than "typical" value either.

This is so rare it's going in my sig :p

Agreed. I can only comment on prices in my area. As far as TZ goes though I was surprised at that price regardless of geography. Especially with the cabinet art, etc... TZ tends to be the kind of game people will ship at those prices. Notice I say TENDS. haha

Again I totally agree. Let me say it more quotably:

I totally agree with you 100%, Deadly.

:D

I thought it was the wrong choice too but I have to give our new friend anubisdeath6 a pass on this one due to relative inexperience.

Yeah, I would have thought so too. It was 100% working and shopped, but had 2 issues:
a) had corrosion on a lot of internal parts (not really visible other than the ramp flaps)
b) front under the coin door had a crack in it (need to be repaired before you could do decals)

Faded cab, no playfield wear. I even have pictures of it here:

There was very little interest at all honestly.

Prices are completely regional though, I agree with the above posters. All it takes is one buyer, sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. Most of the overpriced stuff on craigslist never sells. In KC, there are decent prices sometimes, the harder part is actually finding the game around here (as it's hard to find a specific title sometimes).

Btw, there are also pictures of the Batman, Jurassic Park, and NBA Fastbreak ($1200) that I sold on there. NBA is here:

Just to give an idea of what I'm selling with the prices above.

Don't feel bad. Prices on pins are starting to flail. People can argue all they want but unless it's an A list pin or rare pin like CC or BBB the prices are coming down. I solely blame the economy.

Food for thought:
I live in Oregon and it never ceases to amaze me how my state is always one of the last states to either adopt new laws or feel the effects of the economy. While the housing market was crumbling all over the U.S. Oregon held it's ground. VERY much after everyone felt it we were finally affected. 8-12 months later while Arizona had already been tanked for a year. Crazy huh?

While the news claims unemployment rates are going down (a frigging tenth of a percentage) there's more people running out of benefits every day. There is a vastly large growing number of people that can no longer afford "toys." You see a machine grossly over priced on CL, that thing won't sell. It'll get the hell flagged out of it and eventually the party stops listing it. But these people "typically" ask a ridiculous price because they are financially hurting and need money. But they aren't desperately needing money YET. I often wonder if these people over price something because subliminally they don;t want to sell it. Who knows. But the government can;t keep extending unemployment. They have to shut off the flow sometime. When that happens you'll most likely see an absolute shit ton of pins surface and the prices will be cheap because the people have zero time to wait for a sale to happen. Buying prices will be good - but selling prices won't bounce back until the economy recovers.
Sorry I'm not trying to turn this into any type of political rant, but rather help you find some comfort in your sale prices lol.

Just for the record you guys, the BF pin has been sold. I got an email from the seller thanking me for passing on his info to a few of you. And yes I know who got it, but I'll let them tell for themselves.

I knew that'd draw your attention haha! I'm glad you were able to get it...but hmmm...that's now at least the second time in the past year that you've driven up here haha.
