Someone offered me another machine, this time it's a Batman Forever. It's in really nice condition, the only issue is one line of the DMD is bad. What have you guys paid for your BF games and what should I expect to pay for it, I'll let you know his offer once I get a good idea of what it's worth. Thanks!

I sold a really nice one last November for $1650 (was supposed to be $1700, but had a miscommunication with the buyer). I think it was worth more, but sometimes it is hard to get the right buyer. If I was patient, I probably could have gotten more. Beware that new DMDs are $425+shipping. Sometimes you can pick up used ones, but they usually have problems. Having the DMD out is a big negative when it comes to the Segas with the large displays and you should expect to pay less due to that. Hopefully the problem isn't the DMD itself but something simple on the display board.

Well I'm thinking about taking a look at it later this week. He said it's just one row of lights is out in the display. This would be my first game with a DMD so I don't really know anything about them. He said I can have it for $1,000.

As long as it isn't beat to death, in my opinion $1000 is reasonable with a bad display. If you have to put a new display in it, afterward you will have paid about the going price for an average BF ($1500+). If it is rough or needs more work, you may want to question how badly you want it.

If only a line in the DMD is out, you can sometimes fix that. Pinrepair.com and Pinballninja.com show how it can be done.

I'll check out the display when I go look at the machine. He says it's in very nice condition and not beat up at all, but doesn't every CL seller say that? Haha.

Here's some pictures of it that he just emailed me...it looks nice! I can't really see where the DMD is bad from the pictures though.

The line that is out could be at the top or bottom of the display and not be used much. Barring a hideous cabinet, I'd pick that up for 1k without blinking.

I posted the price already. But I just wanted to make sure that views wouldn't be skewed by knowing the price ahead of time. My bad.

No problem. Just a common annoyance in price check posts.

For $1000 I would be on my way to pick it up right now but stuff tends to sell higher where I live.

I ended up passing on it. I only have about $1,000 left in my game budget and I'd rather pick up a few cheaper ones than one expensive one. If I planned on reselling then for sure I'd go get it, but I have a hard time parting with my toys.

That would've been a tough one for me to pass up.... I think it's the BEST sega pin out there! I understand your thought process though...

I agree with everyone else, that looks like a good deal for $1000. No cabinet pics, but from what I can see it is pretty good.

Not to derail this thread.... but I was seriously contemplating on getting your machine Stangbat when you listed it on RGP..... Mind me asking, why did you unload it? Didn't care for it?

It was my first machine, and several other machines popped up in a short amount of time, one being an AFM. Something had to give, so BF got the heave-ho.

First off I hate you :p

Games like that never go for those prices around here.

I am extremely jealous that you have the chance to pick this up for a measily $1000 and you are questioning on if you should pick it up or not!

Ugh, you guys are awful haha. I'm guessing it's a really good deal and that I'm stupid for not getting it. But as I said, it's my entire game fund lol, I think I'd rather have a couple cheaper ones than the one expensive one..for now.

DUDE, DUDE. What do you mean by cheaper games? What, ones that you need to spend more money on parts to get them up and running 100%? Or Arcade games and not Pins? If I had 1K I would get that BF, forget cheaper games. THat is a Cheaper game, compared to the A list machines. I smell something fishy here. Sorry dont mean to be rude, but are you "yanking are chain' here on this? You one of them "tire kickers'? Seriously you passed on it? i understand if moneies tight but if you could man buy it, probably gone noiw by a klov'er,lol!

I basically agree with the others. Granted we haven't seen pics of the cabinet and we aren't 100% sure about the display, but at that price you can pick up that game, play it and enjoy it, then sell it and definitely not lose money. You'll probably make money. You may even be able to trade for a couple "cheaper" games.

But hey, it is easy for me to spend your money. :D You gotta do what is right for you.
