What's the Difference?? Vs. Goonies or PC10 Goonies

So what is the difference between the PC10 version and the Vs. version of Goonies?
I know the Nintendo 8 Bit game for the console "Goonies II" is different. But what about the first two?

Famicom Goonies = PC10 Goonies. Vs. Goonies may be slightly different like all the other Vs. games, but I've never played the PC10 version and can't confirm beyond the obvious differences on the title screen.

what company made goonies. Seems the general rule of thumb is that if nintendo made the title then there are differences between the PC 10 version and the VS if another developer made the game then there are probably no differences.

Play Choice 10 was almost always the version of the NES game. VS. was for the most part the true nintendo arcade lineage at that time. The games had different content and gameplay. Do a search for games like Ice Climber, Balloon Fight, S. Mario Bros., Mach Rider. Most have some differences even if they are subtle. As for Goonies, I would think that the PC10 version is actually Goonies 2(the sequel), and the VS. game is Goonies 1. However, I am just speculating since Goonies 2 was on the NES. Quick check of KLOV should answer that though.

Not 100% but the Vs. & Playchoice are virtually the same, minus those few inconsistencies. Havent played through Vs Goonies so its tough to say. Goonies was a weird release because it was never released in the US on the NES. It only was produced for famicom console play. Its far superior to Goonies II.

Hmmm. Yeah the 8 bit nintendo cart was Goonies II which is different than The Goonies for Vs.

So therefore I thought that since all PC10 games were basically the 8 bit nintendo carts, that The Goonies would be Goonies II.
KLOV shows it as being the same game.
I was just wondering if there was any difference between the two from people who have played both. Example, is one harder than the other?

Not that it really matters, but the attract modes are a little bit different.

When Mikey gets hit by the last mouse in the VS. version, you hear the "almost dead" warning siren. Not the same in the PC10 version.

+ 1 for the almost dead. Also, the timer is faster in the Vs version. Other than that, they play the same, IMO, since I've owned both.

The timer is adjustable in the VS version. Are you saying under both settings the timer is faster in the VS version?

I played a good deal of VS Goonies back in the day. How does it hold up? I'm seriously considering getting a horizontal mount Ninteno as my next cab and VS. Super Mario Bros. and VS Goonies are probably on the top of my list as far as the VS games go.
