Whats the diagnosis for a green screen?

Could be anything from cold solder joints on the signal input header on the chassis to bad neckboard transistors.
 
Or even a tube.. I've seen the tube be the reason for that more so. Either way, it's a gamble unless you are willing to replace it if need be. Figure an extra 50-100 bucks if it needs to be replaced and someone locally has a replacment.

I'm 100% positive that I can get him lower than his asking price,it's just a matter of if I want to sink another 100 into it. I do actually like the game.
 
Yeah I'd say the chassis needs going over, or the red and blue wires going to the monitor are disconnected somewhere.

*Usually* if the tube is going bad it can be greenish but usually with scanlines too. Not to say it isn't, but I'm leaning towards chassis for that one.

the red and blue wires you speak of, will they be going from the neckboard to the chassis?
