What's the coolest thing another collector has done for you lately?

So I was thinking about it I like positive stories as much as I like the negative juicy ones. So what is something that another collector/ hobbyist did for you lately?

I'll start this off by saying that I had another collector offer to help me fix one of my games that I was having trouble with. What was really cool about it was the fact that he took time out of his busy day . He stopped what he was doing and he took me over to his machines opened up the back and was very patient with me. He even gave me a control panel. I find all too much that it seems that everyone's in a race or competition to get as much games, to squeeze as much as they can out of everyone around them. So this was a breath of fresh air :)

There have been so many collectors that have done awesome things for me that it's hard to name one. The latest was when a collector sent me 8 or 9 Sega LED modules for The Lost World... on his dime... which got my Lost World upright going 100%!

THANK YOU!

repair a dead machine or restore one.

Jenn May, don't think she is on here, but she is on facebook. She just bought out a local storage unit, couldn't get it all on the truck and called me up and gave me the rest, she wasn't going to be able to make it back and she knew my family could really use the money I could make off whatever was still in there (I have been stuck as a stay at home parent for four years now because we literally can't afford to both work, but the credit card balance has been sliding slowly upward the entire time, and I don't think they are going to increase my limit again and it is still a year until I can reasonably go back to work).

Lots of good people on here. They outweigh the bad ones by a ton.

Recently, Mike (behrmr) and I drove 3 hours and back to pick up an Alpine Ski cabinet for me. I received a PM from a member that had one for sale, texted Mike and asked if he wanted to tag along, half kidding. He said "hell yeah" and even offered to drive. Next thing I know, we are headed to Columbus in his pick up truck on a Sunday afternoon to pick up my Alpine Ski. I guess I did treat him to a Wendy's hamburger on the way home.

Jenn May rocks. I met her at MGC this spring.

Sosage helped me wrestle a Crystal Castles out of a crazy place on the corner of Haight and Ashbury. Without his big ass, there is NO way I could have gotten that thing.

Oh and Harry gave me a handy for letting him make payments on a space invaders.
Thanks GUYS!

Pretty much everybody that I have purchased stuff from. Everybody just seems to want to help. But I do have to single out security0001, the guy helps me on almost a daily bases. I have bought several games and a ton of parts from him. There have been times that I've probably emailed him 20 times in a day and he has never complained and always been patient and given me solid advice. Thanks Peter!

I went to buy a partially working Phoenix from a KLOVer for $100. When he saw that I had to rent a truck he wouldn't take more than $60. Game was also in better shape than stated. Damn nice guy.

If that was the same one on craigslist I'm really glad it went to someone good.

Besides people answering the countless and annoying questions I have one user held a game for me for over 2 weeks and dropped the price down $100 from what he was asking

It's made me strive to do the same for other people, but I always seemed to get burned

Traded a Super Pac-Man cocktail for an Asteroids UR. The guy and his buddy (not on here) drove from SD about 4 hours for the deal. The game was in excellent condition and monitor and PS recently rebuilt. They not only hauled the cocktail out of my basement but brought the Asteroids down without my asking and were happy to do it.

Over the last month i have been in the middle of moving, I didnt have much help
and i put myself through some serious pain moving all my personal stuff and my arcade stuff. I was in the middle of a pacman project but the move was taking its toll on me.

One guy stepped up and offered to take the load of getting the board running for me.
keithsarcade is getting my pacman board up and running for me.
Sometimes its the little things people do that seem to matter alot.
If any of you are dealing with this guy, cut him a break.. he was even nice to
me on the phone (internet got transfered) again , thank you Keith.

Arcadenut's been a great mentor in this hobby. All the Phoenix locals have been great, too.

Props to Yotsuya for cooking for us at the repair parties and props to Arcadenut for hosting those parties. Always learn something new.
