Whats the best way to ship Pcb's? Torn to shreds...

I recently bought a shit load of Pcb's from what seems a decent seller on ebay. I bought three lots of PCB'S for a very good amount of money. Now that 2 out of 3 boxes has arrived I feel really let down. All the boards where stacked on top of each other with nothing in between them. The op put bubble wrap around the out side of the boards the long way, taped them and thru some peanuts in the box. When I open up the two boxes I have received I was horrified because I mean they have been tore to hell. A lot of the chips have been scratched up so bad that it literally ground off the labels and left deep scratches on the chips.

Man some of the boards I bought are over 30 years old and its just sad to see them tore to shreds like this. They survived all these years just be treated like a red headed step child. The last box will be at the post office to pick up on Monday or so. It is by far the heaviest box of the three with over thirty different space invaders pcb's.

I am scared to even see how these were shipped...

Very sad...

When shipping boards, always put something between them. I'm amazed at the idiocy of the seller. Even scraps of cardboard cut to size work fine. Ideally, each board would be wrapped separately, but even if they aren't, cardboard between the boards, the stack wrapped tightly with bubble wrap and secured in the box would be fine.

Right... I just don't get it. This op has one of the largest personal collections of games and is ranked very high over on http://www.ggdb.com/ . Why would they ship them like that? Is this the norm for old op's?

Here are some shots of the 4 sets of pp boards...

I could get better shots but you can see a fair amount of b/s in these. My box of nintendo's are a lot worse. WTF

That is brutal! It's not like bubble wrap is expensive or something. Or as RetroHacker said, use some cardboard, or an old freak'n newspaper... SOMETHING!

Clearly whoever packed that just doesn't care about the boards anymore. Truly sad.

i recently shipped four boards to Japan. each was wrapped in bubble wrap then packed into a smaller box with peanuts if there was still space. all four boxes were packed into a larger box with gaps filled with newspaper. they made it just fine.

Packing material - whatever it is - should be carefully secured to the boards somehow.

The ones I just got came in a box with peanuts & plastic packing pillows...but everything was loose. So, the boards had ample opportunity to smack into each other during shipment. Busted three chips out of their sockets (I carefully bent the pins back and put `em back in....phew. Success.)

Yeah I dont get it. I ship packages nearly every day and I have never paid for bubble wrap in my life. I just save it every time I get a package in and recycle it. Same goes for the peanuts, I have several bags of them stashed away.
So Billy....get anything I might be interested in?

This is what the op says I bought...

Mix of Midway Space Invaders mother pcb boards and, Midway system 80 pcb boards. These boards are untested and, missing misc, parts. There are six A08-90000-L000 Space Invaders pcbs, eight Midway 80-900D pcbs, two Midway 0612-00902A pcbs, one Midway sound Space Encounters A084-91324-B905 pcb and, six Midway 596-904B pcbs.

Well here is the last box of boards from this guy. I am truly very sad... I will let the first few pictures I have snapped speak for themselves tonight.

Should I call this guy out and neg him on ebay?

That's lazy to the 10th degree. Man, I'd be pissed.

Have you finished evaluating the damage yet?

Fek me... I'm pissed and they aren't even my boards! Hell ya call him out and neg him. I'd be filling a complaint with ebay and PP, charging back on the CC, anything and everything.

Guy needs to be pilloried, call him out so we all know who to avoid.

That guy is an a$$hole. Shipping like that. You should get your money back. Just because they are untested doesn't mean "Ship them like crap".

Who was it?

I added a few more pictures. The damage is pretty wide spread. Shit is smashed, chipped and even torn from the boards. The attached pic is what I will call board droppings. That's all we found knocked off loose in the box, but as you can imagine, we have all sorts of damage across the lot of them.

Inside that big box was about 1 & 1/2 bags of peanuts (walmart size plastic bags). 1/4 of the peanuts don't look like peanuts anymore they look like ground up fluff. Not one piece of bubble wrap cardboard nothing! nada!

Im pissed...

It's amazing that people that are this stupid are still able to walk upright. I mean, if you're going to pack it like that, you might as well just throw them out and not even bother shipping 'em - net result is the same.

Call this idiot out so we can all avoid him, and definitely file a complaint.

Jeez, not right at all..
I'd neg him. or at least tell us who it was.

Ok, let's see the auction. If you got these for really cheap then it is obviously not the end of the world. I have seen worse but the guy is still a tool for packing them like that.
