What amps is the fuse on the K7000 supposed to be? An autoparts store's 250VAC fuses should work right? I have a 5 amp fuse now, but it blew immediately. I have no idea if this was the right amperage when I bought it.

The K7000 uses a 1.5 amp slow blow fuse rated at at least 125 volts. A fast blow fuse, even one over rated like you were using, is likely to blow immediately on power up.

If you are using fast blow fuses and they are blowing right away then you have a problem with the monitor chassis. It could be a shorted flyback, horizontal output transistor, or any number of other components.

You are sending isolated 120vac to the chassis, right?

So...If it's likely to blow if I'm using a fast blow fuse, it is still likely I have a problem with the monitor chassis?

No, switch to a 1.5 slow blow and see if it blows. You may not have any issue with your chassis. Regular fast blow fuses don't seem to hold up on powering up a cold monitor; however, I have had them hold up to powering up already "warmed-up" ones. Probably something to do with the degaussing function while cold?
