What's running in your Pac cab?

I have the new 4n1 and still want to hang my jr board on the other side for a 5n1. I really need to re read that thread...

clays 24 kit in mine, i really like it because of all the ms pacman games slow and fast that are on it. My kids also love eyes.

I have these installed in my slightly scaled down custom Pac cab

  • Q-Bert bootleg (With Custom Rotary Joystick)
  • Crazy Kong Alca
  • 48 in 1 pcb
  • Pacman 96 in 1 kit
  • Soon to add: DKII
Screen flip relay connected to yoke coils
4 way / 8 way joystick PCB to electronically swap between 4 and 8 way

Using a rotary selector switch to choose games

:)

The last MS. Pac I had was running the original board with Scucci's attract mode chip. The one in storage is going to be bastardized to a 60n1, just so I can tell these whiners that "yes I do have a Ms Pacman and it also runs 59 better games!".

Sorry, I'm just having a leftover case of bad Pac attitude. We had the neighborhood garage sale last Saturday and I had a few games out for sale. The number one question was "Do you have a Ms Pacman for sale?". With the followup answer to my question, "If I had one what would you pay for it?" being some number usually under $200.

So was the neighborhood garage sale a total bust? $200 for a nice restored working Ms. Pac, who wouldn't want to pay that?
:D

This might be a silly or obvious question, but for those of you who've jammatized your Ms. Pacmans, and added the multi-game boards, how do you set up the controls? You'd need to add buttons for all of the DK's right? And don't some boards have Centipede/Milipede? Would you need to add a trakball?

Obviously I don't get over to byoac much. I'd love to someday have a vertical multi, and a Ms. Pac would be awesome, but I'd want to play all of the classics (Pac, DK, Galaga, Centipede, etc...)

I don't have a trackball
I have used a selector switch
Jamma Adapters were used so it was easier to deal with, and so games were interchangeable.

Others use one them remote control 4 in 1's like on ePay

I recently picked up a Pac cab and wanted to get opinions from people that currently have one to see what they're running in theirs i.e. original Pac Man board, 6 pac, 60-1, MAME :p ?

What are you running in your Pac cab and why? TIA.

I just recently picked up an original Pac-man in fairly good condition but non working. I am a big fan of keeping a game as original as possible just like it came off location as long as it's not to ragged out. A new CPO or side art and a little paint touch-up,maybe new T-molding is OK if it really needs it but if it's in the condition mine is in I am not gonna sand it down and repaint it just to make it look new but I think that's another thread.
But to answer your question What's running in your Pac cab?
Right now an original Pac-man board with the original speed chip but the Pac man 96 in 1 kit is awfully tempting.
As for a 60-1or MAME, That's what they make Dynamo and candy cabinets for. :D

My Super Pac came as a 1943. Since I really like that game, and wanted to keep open the possibility of 2 players when I got the 60-in-1 I left my CP as is. There are also 2 or 3 games on the multi board that use 3 buttons, so I added one to each player area. It is a bit crowded if you have two people playing the 1943 games, but it'll still work. The 8-way joystick acts as the trackball on the games which require such. I also decided to keep an 8-way in the cab, so I could get the full range of motion in 8-way games... the tradeoff is having to be more precise with your movements in the 4-way games. I'm still able to achieve my current 4-way DK high score on the 8-way multi version, so again the difference is almost none- to me anyway.

Just a regular Pac board, but I do have a Ms Pac machine as well.

Same here. Ms. Pac has a switching PS installed while Pac still uses the original AC transformer. Pac is going to have the fuseblock replaced one of these times. Both are presently running original slow versions on original Midway PCBs. I also have a Super Pac cocktail. PS has been acting up. As soon as I feel like tearing it all apart, its going to get a nice fresh PC power supply installed. Its still playable but sometimes resets or locks up if its left on for a while. Voltages check fine, not going to bother capping the PS its easier to just replace the whole fracking thing.

I'm going to keep the game running the original board and eventually throw a 96 in 1 in it after I get the TW world record or something. :D

J/K on the TW record attempt. I enjoyed the game as a kid and all, but I have no desire to try and make a run at that one.

My Pac is all original. Got it recently. Tempted to get something that can do pac/mspac fast/slow and high score for each along with freeplay attract mode. Want to keep it easily able to go back original.

60-in-1 feels awful with the latency. Would never use one of those. 96-in-1 would be more tempting if the menu weren't so complicated.
