If you look on the flyback side there should be a model number sticker on the plate. That's where I found mine...

Here is a shot of the serial #

Here is a shot of the chassis. I haven't pulled it yet. An Op gave it to me to fix, and he said he forgets what it is doing, but it doesn't work. So I need to plug it in and see what's going on.

As the OP stated, it looks a lot like an SI-319, but has some differences.

Chassis derivative

This is a derivative of the Kortek KT-1420 (KI-2-VO), of which there are a bunch (the imperial, wico, T&E and this Sharper). Find a schematic that is closest and go with it (the SI-319S schematic is not that close). One point of warning if it is close to the 319 it may be a 100V only power monitor and running it at 120 may blow parts.

Yea thanx man, I capped it and gave it back to the op, indeed it was a 100 volt monitor and I couldn't test it here. It was in some strange bowling game. I do not know if it ended up working or not. The tube had considerable burn, so not really a loss if it didn't.

Newbie question....

About a year ago I bought an original (I think) Ms. Pacman from an arcade that went out of business...got it for $120 as part of a liquidation sale. I didn't get a chance to plug it in and test it before I loaded it into my SUV, but the guy running the liquidation said that it was working....for $120 I was willing to take the chance.

After a 60-mile car ride, I plugged it in at home, but the screen was a mess. Conducting a little recon into the cabinet and I found a remote video board with various knobs (like vhold)... Gave up trying to get a clean picture after an hour or so. Don't know if the car ride bounced something loose, or something is blown...I really don't know enough about these things, or electronics in general, to really know how to figure it out.

So today I found time to start fiddling with it again...same issue...can get close to a clean picture, but it just won't stay in on place...constantly scrolls in one direction or another.

I did a little more research, and found some info on it, thanks to some of you very awesome as smart people on here who have helped others. My monitor board is stamped as a Sharp Image XI-412, and the board matches some of the pictures and schematics of the KT1420 that was posted earlier.

I am stuck as to what to do...I would really like to get this machine working, but can't afford to buy a new monitor for it....not sure how much these things typically cost to have someone come and fix.

I am more than willing to take my time and learn how to do this...I have a very strong computer background, just not in electronics (high school electronics class 20 years ago) and some light tinkering here and there.... Bt I simply don't know where to start...

Any suggestions for a newb?

Thanks!
