Alright... Golden Tee Fore... 2005. First off, it's a HOME UNIT... no coin mechs... just a door (the bottom of a over/under it looks like). Dude said his friend bought it from IT directly... said he gave it to him.

He said he wanted more courses on it so he sent the boardset to IT. Says when he got it back he forgot how to properly install it.

Dude says "you can hear it play, but the monitor says NO SIGNAL"... says he's not sure how to hook it up properly.

What's a reasonable offer?

Here are some pics:

It's about a 45 minute drive from me or so I believe....

EDIT: Oh... and what are the chances of getting that bad boy in a Durango?

If you like the game, I'd say $500-700 if the monitor worked, maybe $100-300 without the monitor working - if you can plug the board, and HD in and hear it play (after about 3 minutes of boot-up). Without all that, I wouldn't pay more than $200 for it. I bought a working one (commercial model) that needed a monitor rebuild for $250 last year.

If he's getting "No Signal", it most likely has the 27" D9200 in there. If no board is connected, it will display that. If it still says that even with a good board attached, it most likely needs the monitor's memory reset, but you'll probably need to hook it up to a different game before you can do so....

I went to see a Golden Tee once and it turned out to be a home unit. I drove a long way to get there and it had this crappy little 15 inch monitor or something. I was cranky about it. I haven't seen this one in person but it looks much more substantial. If it doesn't have a real arcade monitor I'm not sure I'd pay much for it though. Personally.

I wonder if the board they sent back has the incorrect dip setting for either standard or med rez.

Maybe, but I don't know of a dual-res that shows "No Signal" on the screen. If it IS a D9200, then the CGA/EGA connection is the same and it senses what res is coming in. I'll bet the board isn't even connected...

I'm sure that was a Golden Tee Classic or some other BS. The one listed looks like a commercial model but set up for HUO. It's set to Free Play with no coin mechs, card reader or DBV. I personally wouldn't buy it. People prefer to buy commercial machines over these HUO ones, or at least I know I do.
