Whats it worth? SF2CE + cab

ok, found this diagram and found out where the fuse REALLY is... duh.

Fuse looks slightly burnt out!

EDIT: happened to have my multitester in my work bag, the fuse is bad

OK, its a K7191. Here are a couple pics: (sorry, cell phone pics)

ceramic fuse?

That's a resistor. It usually has a nut and bolt securing it to the chassis. I don't know why it's turned up like that. Your flyback is the white knob type which should be replaced. I foresee a Bob Roberts chassis rebuild kit in your future.

If that white square ceramic resistor is what you believed to be the fuse it's not. The fuse is on the opposite end of the chassis from the flyback.

Thank you. I *thought* it looked too much like the ballast resistor on my old dodge. :)

I only unbolted it for the picture, it is now secured back in place.

Here's a link tp the most common K7000 problems as well as the section which most likely pertains to your issue.

CHASSIS FUSE BLOWN??? Check the hot(horizontal output transistor) ohm in between the center and third pin... if you read anywhere near 0 ohms, its shorted.(pull; and retest to make sure) If the hot is shorted, theres a reason it failed... usually a flyback failure. In this case replace the flyback, hot, fuse, and VOLTAGE REGULATOR. WHen the hot fails, if usually takes out the voltage regulator too. There is also a saftey cap, c36, that will sometimes short out, especially if youve had a hot of flyback failure.. Ohm it out one meter lead at each end.(if you have the 4 legged cap this test still works, just pick one leg on each side) Replace this cap if shorted. I have also heard about the large diodes shorting out, but ive never seen it personally***STILL WORTH YOUR TIME TO CHECK THESE***

Bob Roberts chassis rebuild kit includes the fluback, caps and HOT. You might need to order the voltage regulator and C36 cap if yours tests bad.

That'll be a nice looking game if you can get it fixed up.I think it was well worth buying, but then again I love me some Street Fighter!

Replace the fuse. If it blows again right away, you probably have a bad flyback. Jumper it and see if the flyback hisses or even smokes. Either way I also see a rebuild kit in your future.

I assume your familiar with how to discharge it? If not, stay far away from that monitor until you learn how.

Thanks for the info & concern, I've got it discharged per the sticky thread in the monitors section. I'll be getting a new fuse today and will report back with results

New fuse popped instantly, getting it repaired by a local guy.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. I'd try to fix it myself but my soldering skills are pretty lacking so it's best left to a pro.

Not a problem. If you plan on owning a few of these you might want to look into learning some basic repair skills. You can also buy a drop in replacement for about $75-$100 + shipping.

Thats really good to know, what's the best source for them?
