Not sure what the going rate for this is, Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition, dedicated cabinet, I don't know if it's an original cab there is no side art, just black.

Just needs 1 joystick and maybe a few buttons, going to try to clean up the contacts to see if they are salvageable.

FYI, a "dedicated cabinet" means it came that way from the factory. Which would mean by default that it's the original cab. If it's not the original cab, it's not dedicated.

I'm not sure if this one is or not...

Most SFII's are conversions, a few I believe came dedicated in a dynamo cab like what you have, so you may have an original..... but.....

Thats not a CE boardset. If it were it would say Champion Edition under the logo in that screenshot, not World Warrior which is the first SFII. Champion Edition also has boss characters selectable, WW does not.

So basically you'd need to change either the boardset or marquee to correct it whichever way.

As far as value:

Street Fighter II (any) - Conversion upright game $100-$150 (more if 25" monitor). Collector/ebay/craigslist.

I'd guess a dedicated game with 25" monitor and all artwork would fetch around $250.

Just piping in, hoping to add more info on some of this. Capcom has a really sketchy history when it comes to their dedicated machines during this time. World Warriors and Championship Editions at one time shipped in the generic dynamos. I don't know about them shipping in 25 inchers though. Hyper Fighting definitely started shipping in the red z-backs, which were 25 inch. Yet there is official CE bezel artwork that fits a 25 inch monitor...and a marquee that fits the "Big Blues" that didn't take off until Super SF2. In other words...it's a mess. Good luck.

It's also a World Warrior, which is damn near unplayable now days compared to CE or HF. It's also missing a stick. I'd offer $100 for it and see where things go. $200 and I'd start to pass.

Good eye welove80s.

I sold a hyper in a data east rounded cab with world warrior arts last year for $150. Was asking $225, but I only paid $0 for the machine, so I guess I didn't lose my shirt.

I'd expect that cab to sell for $100 to $150. If dude would cough up stuff to make it more playable off the get-go, then I'd say $200.

I agree with what is said here.

It looks to me as a HS-5 which did ship pretty much dedicated and as a kit. It could be either... does it matter. It's the right CE CPO which is hard to find if it's not dedicated. Lots of CPS1 boards went dead or lost sound etc... I'm sure they swapped in the original SF2:WW board afterwards.

Price $200 if it's a 25" monitor. If it's a 19" then I'd go for $150 (as the buyer)
not very playable $35~ board. When it should be CE to HF.
Joystick - $15 after shipping. I'd get the pair after I check that the wiring isn't torn up inside. If it was

As a buyer I'd try to get it as low as possible. Any working Dynamo with a good monitor and a game is $200+ At least the monitor looks bright and the CPO pretty clean. Those two things are a pain or hassle to get fixed up. Finding and swapping out the board and stick are your easiest fixes. The CPO is only $20-30 for a generic capcom one but do you want to burn the 4 hours stripping and prepping a CP for that. I think this looks like it has the makings of a good cab.

Most will find CE even hard to play as it's just as slow as WW. HF and SuperTurbo are the really only playble SF2 versions.

Thanks guys, I checked the wiring out and it all looks really good, no rats nest or anything like that. From what I am seeing, and knowing where this game came from I am leaning towards it being an original cab with a swapped in WW board (good eye welove80s, I don't know how I missed that). The monitor is very clear and bright, and I'm pretty sure its a 25".

We picked it up for $100 yesterday so it sounds like I did pretty decently, not a major score but I didn't get burned either. It does need some work on the controls to have it fully operational, but it will be very playable. The speed of play is no issue for me as I have been playing this game for nearly 20 years.

Thanks again, I appreciate it

I got all the buttons working, just need the one stick, we moved the stick from the 2p to the 1p side and it works great.

What is the best place to get a replacement joystick?

Now days I go through LizardLick. I tend to go through him primarily for my Japanese sticks/buttons, but he has Happ Competition and 360 sticks as well. Have had no problems ordering from him for the last...what...2-3 years.

Trust me, that's a great solid price. The monitor alone is worth it. Your issues are minor at most.
For little to nothing you'll have a pretty solid cab. I'd just get CE or HF as you really want the extra 4 characters and the ability to play vs. characters.

Thanks again guys, Ordered a Happ comp. stick in black from lizardlick last night. I can't wait to reign supreme as SF2 champion in my office :)

Bad news, the monitor died this morning, still have sound and everything else, but no picture. So much for getting a decent deal!

It's totally dark, doesn't seem to have any "life" to it at all.

I haven't checked the fuse yet.

I'm guessing it just was in storage so long it wasn't ready to be left on for 48 hours straight.

Before you really dig into the monitor itself Make sure you wiggle and unplug then replug the main Monitor power cables You could just have a bad connections.

Start simple first then dig into the more intense later. What Kind of monitor is it if you know?

Well, I haven't found the ID of the monitor yet, but there is definitely a little control board like in this picture

So I am assuming it's a WG K7000.

I haven't really opened up the back yet to take a look, but thanks for the tips, I'll try to see if anything appears loose or if the fuse looks bad, etc.

Lots of the monitors have little control boards, but if it looks exactly like that one you probably do have a K7000. I'd open the back and see if the flyback is on the left, has the metal bracket behind it, etc. just to make sure.

K7000's are pretty easy to work on.

My guess is your high voltage protection circuit is kicking in and you need at least a capkit to get it back up and going. Once you get in, let us know what's up. The fuse is on the back left side of the monitor chassis...

fuse looks ok, i have the back panel open now ill get a pic and post it since im not sure what it is
