Just out of curiosity, what's everyone's opinion of this game? For me, I had never played it in the arcades when I was younger and discovered it on MAME. I immediately loved it despite not having the proper controls to play it and have been (unsuccessfully) looking for a working one in my area for a while now. The closest I came to finding one was a $250 one in Buffalo with some noticeable, but not horrible, screen burn.

So I'm guessing that either everyone really likes theirs and won't sell, or not too many were made. :) It seems to me a lot of older driving games, besides Out Run, are harder to find.

I think you could get a quick sale between $250-$325

It's got the seat though. Wouldn't that jack up the price? As odd as it might sound, I don't think I'd even want one with a seat. It might be good for someone who wants resale value, but for my setup it wouldnt work; I'd have to take it off. My basement games face a row of shelving so there's standing room only.

APB is a GREAT game! I used to play one quite a bit when it first came out!

I finally found one w/ decent sideart, sans the sideart, for around 3 bills in the mid 90's... It was YEARS later that I finally found a seat for it! BTW, every APB I've seen had some sort of burn-in. Mine, in particular, has the high score table.

My only complaint on it is the fact the game really never ends, to my knowledge.... I once set it on infinite continues, and roll through all the criminals at least three times and it just repeats.... If you pop the test switch there is one test where it shows all the criminals and one of them includes the chief!

There is a pretty cool COSP page dedicated to APB....

APB pricing is really strange... it has two things that should command a high price...

1. Med Res Monitor
2. The dang seat

Yet... a complete working game rarely breaks 400 in price (my experience/area). Try to buy a complete working med res monitor and a decent seat separately and you are going to shell out enough for a decent complete game.

I guess this is true for most parts but APB seems lopsided to me.

I had been looking for an APB at one point, and I followed them on ebay, etc for about 2 1/2 years. I saw them usually listed between $250 and $600 and watched them all. I saw the ones with seat not sell for months that were all over $350. I still don't know if they were sold, or taken down due to giving up on the sale.

The seat does make a difference, but maybe between an extra $50-$75 in good condition. I still think the price of $250-$350 is reasonable for a complete machine for a quick sale, but if you were willing to hang onto the game you may find a buyer who wants to spend more. Also consider that most people wont ship games due to the cost, so you have to factor in specific buyer demand in your area.

The APB's that will demand top $$$ will have
1) Good condition seat
2) Med Res monitor
3) All art, including chair, cp, and both sides
4) Functioning Police lights (marquee)
5) of course. . all basic functions work.

Gotcha. Good info to have. Thanks!

I guess I have a thing for these kinds of games. Chase HQ is another favorite of mine; have a pending deal on one of those. I like APB better though.

Great game. I used to play it at a few different arcades back in the day.

I bought one that worked so I could take the monitor and transplant it into a paperboy. Truth be told, I really didnt enjoy the game. I parted it out a while back and kept the monitor. The one I had looked like it was used in a prison for the inmates to feel how it felt to be a cop.
