Can someone school me on pros cons or differences between vector labs kit and clays kit? Is one better?

Can't say anything about clays....but vector lab kit is pretty awesome. I am a self declared electronic idiot and it was simple to install the vector labs kit onto my sw pcb. And game play is awesome. Easy to switch between games. You can either use the thumb buttons on the yoke..or there is a wire that can be used to switch between games manually. I will not be getting rid of this pcb set!

So vector labs is easier to install, is one of these kits more desirable? What's the price difference between the two kits right now?

Vector labs is the way to go. Hands down.

Clays kit requires lots of wiring / unstable soldering to legs.

I am sure its same price range, but if not, vector labs kit worth more due to certainty and simplicity.

Good luck finding either... ;-)

I've got one of Clay's older kits. Installation is a little bit of a PITA by comparison to the vectorlabs but when running is every bit as good as you'd expect it to be.

Don't forget Mark Spaeth's kits !

Pro's:
- no mods in software (well that is a pro if you are a purist....)
- easy to install
- works reliable

Cons:
- wire between three boards is flimsy, I had to resolder it 1 or 2 times while working on board-sets.
- switching between games can take several button presses
- no software mods (well that is a con if you want more comfort...)
