i've been looking at a few parts for a project i'm working on, and just curious. the last parts i bought from canada were some CPO's back in '07 and the shipping took about 5 weeks. didn't know i anyone's shipped to the us from canada lately, and if in general shipping is faster than that?. otherwise, i'll be looking locally in country for stuff.

Hmm.. I'm not sure about Canadian rates, but 5 weeks seems like an awful long time. I ordered something from Russia a while back and it got here is a little less than 3 weeks.

I'm in Canada and ship to the US almost daily.

Average time is 7-10 days for "normal" Air Mail,
and 4-5 days for Express.

There is ground mail (...which would take 4-5 WEEKS ),
but that's only a $1 or $2 less than Air .

A shipper would have to be really cheap not to ship Air.

If you order from Canada, make sure the guys ship via Air.

Cheers,
Steph

cool, thanks for the info. i don't generally buy from up north, and that one transaction i had kind of burned me.

I am in Canada, Northern Canada and it's 10 - 12 days, I just bought a PCB from Dokert and it was only $5 more to ship to Canada. The only time i have ever have had a problem is when someone says they sent something and actually they didn't. Then they run to the post office and send it, 10 days later... it's here. You can tell usually on the package itself as it's stampe when sent.
