My evel knievel pin has been sitting for abt 2 years waiting to be brought back to life. What's been your longest sleeping game and why? Money? Parts? Time?

my space invaders mini sat for over a year with a TV issue before I replaced it with a $10 craigslist 13" color tv. the #3 that always appeared on the top left of the screen always bothered me, and about 6 months later I figured out what was wrong with the original b&w tv and now it is all beautiful.

the game slept for over a year, but it wasn't for lack of money, parts or time. it was lack of knowledge.

i have this rotted out pac cabinet (bottom's missing, needs a new 6" put on,) that i've been dragging around for 10 years. otherwise it's pretty solid and i like the Midway shape, and i hate trashing a cab like that that can be saved. i'd 've done something with it a long time ago if i didn't keeping picking up other projects that have higher priorities.

my capcom bowling has been waiting for cosmetic work for about 4 years im sure i have many that have been 2-3 years without even pluggin them in to see if they work

my gunfight and boot hill uprights have been sleeping 15-18 years. Its been so long I can't remember whats wrong with them.. I guess it should be part of my new year resolution to get them working..

I could not wait to hear a story like this- I KNEW there were some real sleepers out there! :D

I have a Ms. Pac-Man that I stored in my parents basement in 1989. It just needed the ribbon cable for the daughter board. Guess I should go pick it up soon.

and thats just games that I would not mind keeping.. there is a grand track 10, exidy circus, head on, 280 zzap, space invaders, deluxe invaders and a space odyssey sitting right next to it. But I have no plans on keeping them..

Oops forgot the 2 omega race UR's. One of them is going to be a keepr if I can ever get a working board..

I have a Solar Quest that has been parked for over 12 years. It needs one transistor in the monitor and a sound problem fixed. It keeps falling to the bottom of the games to fix next list. I keep it around because it's a fun game and they don't show up too often. It's survived many project game purges over the years.

Fortunately, most of my sleepers are near completion. The two exceptions are my MAME cabinet and Multi-JAMMA. Neither ever worked as expected, so they keep getting pushed to the back of the list, so I can work on restorations.

Too late.
Your dad sold it to a dude last week for $10. He was trying to get $20, but.....

If you have a Ms Pac that has been sitting for that long and only needed a ribbon cable, you should be publicly pelted with quarters, coin doors, and any other game cabinet hardware people have readily accessible. :D

Hell yeah we played Boot Hill at CAX for for 30-45 mins.If I didnt go help Mike S. we would have played longer..I want a Boot Hill someday very fun game.....

exactly my problem. Ken and Tj have both and take them to CAX. So very little motivation to get them going as I have access to them..

They would be keepers if I did not have access to play one. More than likely I would want to fix boot hill and pass along the gunfight.

You chose that loser Mike S. over Boot Hill ? Epic fail ! Seriously , Mike is cool. As for Boot Hill, I had one, sold it, and have regretted it ever since. In fact, i bought it from Mike many many years ago. Awesome game.

Boot Hill sucks and is impossible to fix, sell it to me ;)
