Hi,

I'm going to look at a few dynamo showcase cabs today that a guy has for sale. All working, good condition.

MvC2 ( don't know if it has the capcom I/O, I would think so)
Soul Caliber 2

What's a good price to offer on each of these? Probably looking to pick up just one.

Dynamo 25" with good artwork? I would hope about $350-$400.

My buddy just picked up a dedi in a Virtual Audio cab with nice arts for $300. That was a DAMN good price.

They were for sale a week ago for $99 a piece and I am betting this is where he picked these up. However, I'd say they are worth $250 to $400. Showcase cabs are huge and very few people have room for them, this is the main reason their value is so low...

Yeah, there is an op out here that has like four he is trying to unload for $150 a piece. Man, if I had the room and the upper body strength I would be all over it. Alas, I am a weak girl.

My wife pushed the Capcom Big Blue into our living room on an appliance handtruck. We're both horribly out of shape, but she got it up the step on our porch by herself....I was impressed.

I concur with this assessment.

That's nuts! I could barely get my neo geo in a K3 on my porch sans the monitor. I cry when I think about having to move the Big Blue in 3 weeks.

Between the two of us, I'd say it was not really as hard as I was thinking it would be all said and done...but I see where it COULD be for someone that's not pushing 300 pounds. I have a lot of leverage to balance it. :p

Well, that was a waste of time. These guys were just trying to make a quick buck. They didn't even know what they had...definitely not arcade enthusiasts. 2 machines had monitor issues and they wanted 250 each. The mvc2, he wouldn't budge @500.

What a joke. My buddy just picked up a dead monitor showcase with a full Tekken 4 kit for100 bucks.

Well, they'll come down in a few weeks when they realize that these things take up a ton of space and no one wants them at such a high price...

those have huge monitors that always go out. Nothing like 25" monitors cause they are common enough to find a replacement. Forget them and get yourself a good Dynamo HS5 or KOAM Z-back.

MVC2 hardware: $350 (assuming it has a Capcom IO)

Showcase cab with MVC2: $250-$500....

Yes, The cab can detract from the overall value.

Yeah. Even if you also really wanted the MvC2/Naomi hardware, you can find a better deal than that. What kind of monitors are in these things? A friend of mine had one, but I always thought they were regular 25 inch monitors.

She must have a hell of a core! My Big Blue is easily the biggest pain in the ass to move around next to the PlayChoice 10. I'm in the 300's and lift weights every day...I still wouldn't want to lift that thing up some steps by myself.

All Showcase cabs I have worked on have either 32" or 38" monitors. Yes, the reliability of these monitors is sketchy, and there is little documentation on them, but I have always been able to get them running properly. I will say that a simple cap kit and cleaning up cold solder has never fixed one of these monitors for me, usually I have to replace a few of the video ICs.
