What's a Monster Bash worth today?

Oops, my bad. This year's charts are showing a slight upswing to $4399 :p

http://www.bostonpinball.biz/ebay0511.htm

Real world numbers and such and whatnot, blahblahblah and some other things. Thanks for playing :)

If 4400 is average then a 5-6k estimate is in line for above average condition (which is what op asked). You've confirmed what everyone here said.

There has always been a descrepancy between what most of us can sell games for and what we buy them for. the longer you wait and the more patience you have the better odds you have of paying less.

In the last six months I personally know someone who paid $3,300 for a very nice MB and I know another very nice MB that sold for $6,000.

If you've got cash it's a $6,000 game. $6,000 will get you a very nice MB in short order. If you work for a living, it's a $4,500 game. You just can't have it now.

Agreed....Though there is a reason why you generally want to throw out the highest and lowest sales prices. As outliers they mess up the average and arent representative of the overall market.

FWIW, Pinside tags MB at 4900-5900k. In line with what everyone is saying here...Except for the outliers :)

There really should be a sticky in here stating "Price checks not allowed". sheesh... you guys argue about the dumbest things.

:) :)

Not saying I agree with your or not regarding the pricing. However, pinside is the worst place to take pricing advice from. HUO SM's are worth $5,200, average TZ is $4,300, Fire is $1,500 beat up, routed WH20 in eh shape $3,000. These are just some prices from the last week or two people are kicking around on the forums. Some people over there are on crack.

I pulled that from their sales 'bot' not their forums. If I pulled from forums like there or here on KLOV (and I believed them) i'd spend ALOT less on my pins than I do!!!

Pinside scans ebay etc for sales data like bostonpin.

I didn't know that pinside scraped ebay. Interesting though, if you take the average pinside sale price, it's 32% higher than bostonpinball on this particular game. I couldn't find how pinside calculated it's estimated value though.

I'm sure you can make a case for either, I tend to lean toward bostonpinball as more accurate. That's just based on their prices in relation to what I've been able to do. YYMV of course.

Yep, I agree. And their numbers confirm that an above average MB will be worth 5k+

Interesting topic, but region/location can have a lot to do with it, just like it can with arcade games. I'm in Central Florida where there's a lot of buyers with money waiting to pounce on "A" titles.. especially if they can inspect in person and not have to pay for shipping.

As far as being an owner of a MB, like I was saying I just got mine and saw a bunch of machines sell before I could get them, and that's why I gave my price range. If I decided to sell, I'd start on the higher end and go from there, seems to be no shortage of buyers for good condition Bally/williams pins nowdays in my area.

Have you checked out pinside.com, Joe? They'll show you an average of what pins have actually sold for instead of an average of what people want for them.

I would, however, do not trust that site completely. An AFM going for sub $3900??? Sign me up. :D

The issue with that is condition. No one can accurately describe condition of each game sold in that price range. Most sales for a higher end game are not on CL or Ebay. Usually a friend of a friend. At least, that's how I do it...
