Whats a decent High Score for Ms Pacman , Pacman , Galaga ,
I think it all depends on who you're comparing it to. If you have a high score board in your arcade(like I do) and the scores are from maybe 50 different people, and you scored 80K on Ms. Pac(and that's the high score) then that's a good high score. If you compare 80K to what is registered in the Twin Galaxies database, then its not that good of a score. I'm not really sure what the average score is on those games. Many people I've watched can't get over 50K on any of those games. I watched a guy get over 500K on Ms. Pac once(turbo), but that's rare. A friend of mine's wife can get between 350-400K on Galaga. That's a good score IMO. Better that I can do for sure...
Yeah I see what you mean , what do you compare to . Well I always see two extremes , Twin Galaxies and then the average player that gets 50k . I guess thats what Twin Galaxies is for then , to set the standard . Their scores are just so High and insane , I suck compared to them .
TG scores are basically the best scores recorded on each game(not always the case, though). So the top 20 scores on a particular game(I'll use Gorf for an example) are usually higher than what the average player can put up. Doesn't mean your score isn't good. So I put up damn near a million on Gorf. So what? The average player probably puts up between 5K-15K. 30K is awesome. 50K is spectacular. I just happen to be really good at the game is the only difference. Be proud of your scores, they are the best you personally can do. Hey I can only get 25K on Missile Command. Laughable by many standards but I'm proud of that score LOL.

So whats your average score for Gorf ? You think you can get a million ?
I'm really not sure what my average would be, since I don't invest the time in a 2-4 hour game on any regular basis.I usually play 20 or 30 boards and quit. I think I can get a million(I know I can), but it will be very time consuming and very difficult. For each game you get 400-800K and then die, you break down a little bit. At least I do. I mean, if I play a 3 hour game and get 650K, I'm not going to play again for a few days to let my body rest. Its really hard to play Gorf that long. I think someday in the future I will try breaking my own record, since a lot of people want to see the magic "million" barrier broken. No arrogant guarantees though on my part.
at coin op space in their groups section there are groups for many games. Some of them include the results of high score competitions or just high scores from members there. Here are a couple of links. Galaga only shows a couple of scores but ms pac is pretty good and I would say represents your average player.

Wow so what does it do to you physically ?
So you play whenever you have spare time for like an hour or so and even if your game is not over you stop . How many hours does it take to get a million ?
Well physically its hard on my feet mostly; just standing there(I have flat feet). And pulling the trigger 15-20 thousand times wears out your hand in a long game. It would be around 5 hours or more to get a million. My WR game I cleared 596 missions. Its just a lot of screens to go thru! Yeah, I just play for 10 or 15 minutes usually, then let my ships die and go play another game. No reason to play any longer than that unless I'm trying for my own record(s).
