Anyone who frequented RGVAC years ago remember Apollo (Dawn and ?) and that website? They reproduced some artwork. I haven't seen a mention of them in years, wondered where they went..

Mike and Dawn spend most of their time on other hobbies now. They still have a nice basement arcade with 30+ games and host parties occasionally.

they repro'ed a bunch of artwork including Galaga 88, but no longer have it available. if anyone knows them personally and thinks they may be willing to pass on some of their hard work, i'd love to have some of the G88 artwork printed up and might be willing to finance a small run at no profit.

if you know 'em and think they may be ok with this please send me a PM.

I work with Mike. I just talked to him. He says they have the G88 artwork in CorelDraw format somewhere. Dawn is looking for it now. I can give you her email.

awesome! thanks! i picked up a G88 that's devoid of side art and i'd love to finish it off... i know it's a popular enough game and nobody's doing repros of any sort at the moment so i figure there may be some interest.

I think I still have a CPO they made on our multiPac. Those were some good times on rgva.c for sure. :beerchug:

Back when I first got into this hobby when Ms Pac was gold and MK3 was sh!t (as far as value), I used to frequent their site to see how their collection was evolving. I had huge gameroom envy back then.

Me too. Theirs was one of the first sites I followed when I got started.

I have the Mr. and Mrs Pacman pinball that Mike bought Dawn for her birthday one year..I managed to talk her into selling...everyone has a price...:D It has what looked like a nos playfield and nos plastics...very nice example of a pin that usually is beat to hell.. they had a cool site..I remember referring to some of their games while tracking down some for myself...

That was the first big arcade site I found, with paint codes, lots of pics, etc.. The site design looks ancient now, but that was great back then. I'm pretty sure I bought something from them, but don't remember what.

Hi Everyone,

I'm hopefully not stepping on anyones toes by posting this but here are some threads relating to galaga '88 art. I'm not too sure how far they got with the project and a few of the sendspace links are down. The link from the user mr.clean still works. I'm not sure if his versions are the finished versions of the art however. If it is someone here, or if someone gets in contact with the users over there who are involved,(as I am not a member there) please let me know if you don't want your work shared and I will edit my post to remove it.

Thanks!

Earlier in this post it was metioned about financing a small print batch by mc300baud -- I'll add to that. I passed up a beat up Dragon Spirit last week because I wasn't sure if I could find the artwork to turn it into Galaga 88. Please keep me in mind if you plan on doing a run for the artwork.

The Appolo's have graciously donated the vector artwork that they made back in 1998 for the reproductions they produced. I have converted the files to Adobe Illustrator. A run of silkscreened CPOs is in the works (not by me, so please don't contact me regarding that). I contacted mc300baud about the sideart, but I have not received a reply....

So they are continuing to be awesome I see!!! :)
