I have been interested in this for about a month now but I don't feel it is worth the $875 he is asking. What would you guys feel comfortable paying for this? I am thinking $400-450 max. Would that be consider to low,or would I be offering to much? It has a ms Pac board and Marquee on it right now.

Pic #5 - I have no idea what the hell that is for. Pac doesn't require the remote board???

This and Ms Pac are two of the worst machines to have to restore, although it looks like a magic eraser could do the cabinet a lot of good ;)
. If you are buying it to simply leave it as is and play it then I wouldn't go much over $400 as an absolute top end figure.

$875? No effing way. If it was an all original Pac-Man, $250 - 300 max, but I'd start with an offer of $150. That cabinet is pretty beat. I'm not a Ms Pac fan, so I wouldn't touch it in its current state.

Pacs (especially Ms) are so common, but a lot of people think they are sitting on a goldmine and list them for $1000 or more.

All depends on how much you want it and what you're going to do with it.

That is the Ms Pac daughter card. He stated in the forst post that it currently is running Ms Pac.

Personally, I wouldn't pay over $250 but I don't really enjoy the Pac games.

Yep missed that - but I've never seen a red one - always green.

I agree the selle rthinks because it's a Pac-Man he has a gold mine. throw the guy an offer you feel comfortable with paying and tell him to keep your email if decides to change his mind. Safest route to go. But really it boils down to how badly you want that game and what it's worth to you.

Hmm I think I saw that one on ebay. I bought an original Pac in that Pac cabinet for $275 a year ago. It was in a little nicer shape than that one too. $400 max I would think but it's a Pac so I wouldn't spend more than you're comfortable with because another is bound to come along.

I bought one 4 years ago non working for 200.00 ended up selling it for 900.
If your patient you will find one at a reasonable price.

I'd sell you my multi-pac for $875...in MUCH MUCH nicer condition... new CPO... rebuilt joystick... re-capped monitor... nice side art... new T-Molding... new Multi-Pac marquee...

So yeah... dude's asking WAY too much. $200-$250 tops IMHO.

I know that one's on eBay right now, but I could swear I saw the exact same listing (same looking photos, anyway) on either eBay or CL a little while back for about half the price.

Frankly, I say wait, or give an eBay offer price you're comfortable with. Or, just put a WTB message in the KLOV forum for a Pac and see what you get.

Those pics you saw on Ebay and these are of the exact same machine. He is taking offers on it also but being the way these people are with taking offers they barely ever budge, whats the point of best offer option if you won't except less than your asking?lol. My wife is the one who wants one of these and I want to buy it so i can restore it and give it to her as a birthday present. If I did buy it I would be switching it over to a Pac pcb and marquee then save the Ms pac PCB and marq for an empty Ms pac cab later down the road.

Did you see this Pac Man in Towson on CL? Cheaper than the eBay one...

I just bought one in Vancouver, B.C. for $250 last month in pretty much the same condition as that one.

Come over here and I will sell you one I started restoring for a decent price. It comes with new artwork, new cpo, new bezel. All the electrical has already been redone. Basically this needs the control panel redone and the cab painted/artwork applied.

The only thing that matters on a game is the art on the wood, everything else is easily replaceable/repairable/repro'd. I wouldn't pay anything for it, it's hashed.

Take a month, and you'll find one in much better shape than that for <$200. Even if it's dead, a new working PCB is gonna be $80, Working G07 chassis is $50, and the transformer never breaks. As long as it has a harness, you are golden.

And ask yourself if your wife really wants an ugly game in the house? She will like it much more if it's pretty, and so will you.

Yea, thats like a $100 cabinet. Maybe $150 since you are up north. I bought a Pacman 25th aniv. cabinet for $50, and will have it back to brand new condition for less than $600 when it is all said and done. ($3000 game) So a beat up old peice of crap Pacman (working or not) isn't worth anywhere near $1000 anymore. You can build a brand new Pacman with a brand new cabinet for that. (seriously)

EXAMPLE:

Brand new Midway cabinet in 19" or 25" configuration from Arcadeshop $375 (plus $200 shipping est.) or old Midway cabinet sanded down and painted with new orange t-moulding installed $150

Brand new Pacman complete control panel from Arcadeshop $125

Brand new Pacman side art, kickplate art, bezel, and marquee $200-$250

Brand new 22" LCD monitor at Wallyworld $175

New Jamma harness $15

New 60 in 1 with everything but Pacman turned off $90 shipped

$200 "fudge factor" for any small parts, coin door, LCD mount, etc.....

TOTAL $1005-$1430 depending upon whether or not you have to have the new cabinet or not. Even less if you take an old cab to do it. (existing marquee, control panel, coin door, bezel, etc...)

The Christmas season is coming so there will be 2 kinds of sellers, some trying to get top dollar, and some that want cash to buy gifts. You need to find the person selling one so they can have shopping money to buy gifts. Just my .02
