What would you pay for a dirty, needs work Theatre of Magic?

I had a quick look at this a while back and would need to have another.........

It's a machine that was in the wild, it's playfield is really dirty, needs new rubbers, new DMD and needs a new trunk.......and more than likely needs more than that.

What would you pay for it? offer how much, and go as high as?

I'm in Canada so the price is gonna be a little higher than what it would be down south.

Thx

Off the top of my head, I'd say around $2,000-$2,500 CAD is probably a fair price. It depends how much work it needs. What's the playfield like under all that dirt? Is there a lot of wear?

Is the playfield in tact or does it have wear? Dirt can be cleaned with either a TC kit or novus and some wax, but wear requires more work. Why does it need a new truck? Is it missing or broken or what? What is wrong with the DMD? Broken or just doesn't come on? Might be a fuse, broken solder joint, or simple board fix.

Seeing as you are in Canada I would expect that you will have to pay U.S. premiums of around 3K, but if the cab is in good shape and the pf is good minus needing a shop job I think you are good.

I'd have to have a better look at the playfield to say either way, it was so dirty I may not be able to tell until it's clean....
The trunk is broken and missing part of the bottom.
The right side of the DMD is blank/burnt out?...
The cabinet was not mint, it hd some minor damge.

It really depends on condition and who you're buying from. Is the game actually for sale or are you just making an offer to an operator? If it's for sale how much are they asking?

After talking with Dean, Lindsey you know where it's from :) I was told 4k shopped and ready to go, seeing they don't do in house repair, maybe they'd let it go unshopped......

Good luck with getting a lower price ;)
Hahaha, I know..... But I'll be driving past there in an hour or 2 and you never know, money talks doesn't it..... :) and I REALLY want one right now!

Btw-Soak is closed for the holidays, I'm parked out front right now, and Adam was parked out front too!

I don't understand how the Canucks value is different from the US but let me say if it was in my neck of the woods that would be sold @ $2K-$2200. It's a top 10 title (off and on) so even with it's faults it's already worth a gold mine is some elses head.

Most of the TOM's I see that are ready to play and in fairly nice shape seem to fall into the $2800-$3200 range. I suppose the real question at hand is are you better off waiting for a different one considering your cost to fix it up VS buying one that's ready to play? Either way good luck it's a fun game.

@Lindsey - Money to spend = Rig Pigs, mostly the ones that don't blow their cash on blow...

@Dean, Lindsey, Cam, and anyone else in Alberta - Quit your hobby, it's a terrible addiction that needs to be broken. I suggest cold turkey. I'll be around with a trailer shortly to collect your machines.

Seriously though, has anyone seen that BSD on Kijiji for 1500? What's up with that? SML (I know...) in Red Deer had a BSD a few months back, that they were asking $5200 for. If it wasn't Christmas, and I wasn't trying to get a house...

I haven't talked to Dean recently so I don't know who it's from. Based on this I can make an educated guess and tell you that you won't be getting a good price assuming it's who I think it is.

Shopped and ready to go. haha. Yeah... that will be a nice shop job...

If you want one shopped and ready to go buy this one:
http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-...e-of-Magic-Pinball-Machine-W0QQAdIdZ247745724

The seller is a friend of mine and I'll vouch that you will get a much better game probably for a better price. I've bought many games from both sellers.

Not a bad price. If I didn't already have one I might consider it.

Well it's a dead issue now, I just left there and the options are:

Buy it shopped for 4k, their definition of shopped is a new DMD and a couple hours labour to replace the rubbers and keep the broken trunk.

Or

Buy it as is for $3800.

So I guess that tells me how much they are willing to spend shopping it, lol. I offered $2500 as is with cash in my pocket and was told to call back in the new year.....

Lindsey, I should have said that a little clearer that what I typed.....I meant that "after I talked to Dean (hearing a little behind the scenes between you guys and this vendor) that you would know who it was.

Dave's is a liitle out of my price range, but yeah he does a hell of a job shopping his stuff!

here locally there is a shopped one for $2,400. for that condition id offer $ 1,000
and go up to 1,200 but no more.
