Well, I made a run over the holiday weekend and picked up these two cabs.
One is an original five slot, single mech, red Nintendo cab.
The other is a Tempest Cab that was converted to Major Havoc.
I'm unsure if I want to restore the Red cab to a DK or a Radarscope, and
as far as the Tempest cab I was thinking of restoring it back to Tempest and making an adapter board for the MH PCB to go into either my Space Dual or Black Widow.
I am also considering Stripping the cab smoothing it out and applying the Major Havoc Side art from TOG.
What would you guys do?

Is that a factory converted MH? What's up with that model number?

Don't know man, I was wondering that myself. It's MHC01 Which would seem to stand for Major Havoc Conversion. I was hoping someone would chime in that knew if these were in fact converted at the factory.

I had a factory converted star wars cockpit to ROTJ cockpit, so it did happen. I'm surprised it didn't get the funky white space artwork though. If that does indeed mean Major Havoc Conversion #01 then I would say it should remain as such.

I am pretty sure that the Major Havoc conversion kit for Space Duel cabs is model number MHC02.

In the pic, it almost looks like the sticker was placed over another sticker... I seem to remember that the conversion kits came with a new serial number tag, but I could be thinking of another kit...
By the way, awesome avatar... reminds me of the Highlander "There Can Be Only Juan" pic that pops up from time to time...

Serial # is CK00342 (guessing the CK stands for Conversion Kit) so I'd guess it's #342 but I still think he should leave it as Major Havoc.

I agree - Major Havoc.

When conversion kits were issued (from Atari at least) they came with new serial number decals to re-badge the machine with a new serial number and model number.

I say keep it as MH. It would be easier to find another Tempest. If you do swap it back I would be interested in the Marquee "sled" with the MH art on it.

I vote for Major Havoc and Radarscope... I love red DK's, but RS never seems to get any love. By the way, nice score on those cabs! You can never have enough projects! :D

Shows you what I know. I've been doing this for a long time and have only seen one MH conversion kit in person at not for very long at that. I guess I need to move to CA where all the good Atari stuff is.

Well, I don't know much. I just try to absorb what I can here and there. I am trying to compile a list of Atari model number information. I actually had TMH-CONV-A listed as the model number for Tempest cabinet Major Havoc kits.....so now I am confused.

When I read the title of this thread I was expecting something totally different.;)
