Curious to know what a mint SW cockpit would cost me to buy. I've heard 3000...but guessing they go for more ? There is a guy in my town that has one and before I talk to him I would like to know what they are worth.. .

A mint one with a 25" Amplifone? $3000 would be a pretty solid buy. Up to $4000 and you're still not getting a bad deal. $3500 is what I'd call a fair price for all parties. $2500 and you stole it.

Let's see...someone quoted $150-$250 for a working Asteroids cabaret last week.

So, a SW cockpit? $600 easy. Maybe up to $800. ;)

That seems about right for the Asteroids around these parts.

If you see a working $150 - $250 Asteroids cabaret anywhere, including Hawaii or Australia or Mars, let me know and I'll pay to have it shipped. ;)

Obviously, I do not have a mint Star Wars cockpit.

And above, you see the reason that you can't buy one for $1000

Nobody really has a need for FIVE SW cockpits. You only need one. The rest would be to jack up the price and profit.

I don't think I'd pay $2K, because that thing wouldn't STAY mint. Not around my places.

How much can I get a nicely beat one for over on the east coast?

I didn't notice the "cabaret" part. I'm talking about the standard upright. Are the cabaret's rare for Asteroids?

Anyway, back to the question.....I don't have room for a SW cockpit so I would never pay full price for once since I'd probably just end up flipping it. But if I could pick up a decent one for $1500 I'd definitely take a chance on it. $2000 or more I'd have to really think about it first.

I honestly would only buy one if I could get it for $1500 or less. They sell for twice that regularly, but the same dudes who quote their worth at $3-4K are also the first guys that would jump on one for $1500, brag here for a month or so and then try to flip it for 3x that. You are in South Dakota. Local competition is slim to none. Start at $12-1500 and let him counter. No need to pay top dollar right off the bat.

I wouldn't pay over a $1000 if it was me. I love to play a game in a cp, but cant really entertain the idea of owning one. They are big, and heavy, which is why i will let others own them. I am probablly in the minority, but i wont drop more than a $1000 on a videogame unless i know i can get twice that when selling. That way it pays for my trouble and can still provide a good fair price to whomever buys it from me. I guess im just a tightwad. IMHO if your happy with it and dont mind the price tag, then it doesnt matter what anybody else thinks.

As for the Highjack, I picked up a Asteroids Caberat on New Years morning for $100, Guy got it in a storage unit buy and had it in his 20° F garage and said it wouldn't work. Got it home and vaccumed it out washed it down and within a couple hours of warming up in the house i fired it up and runs great, but the monitor could use a cap kit, other than that whoever had this machine, did a great job of maintaining it. If I ever did find one in mint shape I would try and grab it in a heartbeat...only thing that sucks is that I would have to sell my data east sw pin. Around here I know I could get 3000 easy. I knoe thats high...but i know a guy that paid 2500 for his locally..and the cab was so dry that it is litterally cracking into pieces...mine is mint... Lots of oil people with nothing to spend their money on...and no machines around here at all.

Next question....who wants to sell me one!! Or where can I find one? Besides the 12500 on ebay!! U guys seen that!!? Outrageous!!

I'll take a standard, working Asteroids upright for $250. I'm used to paying around $400-500.

Yeah. They're much harder to get ahold of than the URs.

That doesn't make you sound like a tightwad. But it does kinda make you sound more like you're in the business of buying / selling arcade machines than being a collector - not that there's anything wrong with that.

That's an awesome grab.

You're most likely not going to see an Asteroids cabaret listed on KLOV for less than $400 unless it's busted. You'll be lucky to see one at all.

warp655 recently sold/traded a HUO SW Cockpit. It only had like 70 plays on it. I won't say what he got for it, but let's just say I think he could have gotten a lot more. :)
