What would be your personal price point at which you would jump and buy a Galaga just like this? Assuming it's working 100%, could use a CPO, artwork is fair, and it's within reasonable driving distance?

Just curious to see fellow KLOV member price points on this. Not what you think it's worth...but at what price point would you personally take the plunge?

(and regardless if you knew how much the guy originally paid for it) :)

$250 would be my top price.

I restore to perfect on games like this, so $250 would be my number or I wouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell of making anything worthwhile off it if sold after restoration, but then again I live where these almost never come up, so lack of supply drives $ up.

I paid $400 for mine that was in similar shape, the cabinet is better, but the kickart is worn to white and the CP is worn on the bend. Mine could use new t molding too. I paid too much, but it was my first (bought 3 at the time, but the Galaga was first on the truck) cabinet. The other two were amazing deals.

$250 tops ($300 up here in CAD), needs CPO and I'd replace the marquee as it looks kinda faded to me (Maybe just the pic/external lighting?). Add in time to clean it up and paint needed areas.

I'd love a Galaga, but not many come up around here and people seem to think they're worth a mint. The ones that do come up, WERE Galaga's...and are now xx-in-1's.

I feel good @ $200, problem around here is anything listed on C/L as a Galaga has an asking price of $500 and up and not what I call "collector" quality if you know what I mean.......;)

Seems like a very common game. Unless its your first "gotta have" or just topping off that big collection, not more than $300 b/c it needs cosmetic work. Galaga is one of those that works 100% like the original in a Multicade. Now that I have a multicade, i'ts hard for me to pull the trigger on a Galaga, Dig Dug, Pac Man etc. Currently, I'm more down for the uniqe controller type games.

edit.. yes I have a Ms Pac Man Galaga 20th, so that kinda makes me look silly. Lets just say it and the multicade were my first two games when I didn't know any better.

Ok, the game is officially for sale at $300 now. If anyone is interested then let me know. I'll post it in the for sale section. And yes, I set the price at $50 over Phetishboy's high end just to be sure he doesn't show up. Don't know the man but we all know the reputation....

Galaga is always a tough one for me. It was consistently one of my favorite games, so I've always had the tendency to over-pay a bit for them. I'd say it would depend on if you're going to fully restore it and keep it for personal use, or restore it and sell it.

Also a factor would be the innards. If the monitor is nice and clean, minimal burn, doesn't squeal, that's a plus. I've seen several that already were upgraded to switching power supply units, so that's also a plus if it is been done.

Then I look at the control panel condition. If the stick and buttons are the original leaf variety and they play well and are clean, that's better than a micro-switch setup (imho).

I'm finicky on cosmetic appearance of my machines, so when I'm done with them I want them to look awesome. On that machine, I'd end up replacing almost all (if not all, hard to get a good look at the bezel in the pics) of the artwork, t-molding, etc...

Given that, I'd say $300 or so is a good price for that one...

I think $300 is fair for that game. But you are probably not going to sell it to anyone here for that.

Stick it on Craigslist or Ebay.

But but but.....5 of the responses said they would pay $300. I know those 5 probably don't live near me but you never know. Someone here could easily grab it for that.

OOHH I thought you were asking because you were going to buy it.

If your actually selling the game and want to know what to sell it for then I would say $300.

I'll buy it and pick it up this weekend, pm me.
