I need to get a new pair and was wondering if anyone had a suggestion. Mid level price would be nice, times are a little tight, but I want something that works.

Thanks

I like the spring loaded ones you can pick up at Big Lots or Harbor Freight for $2-$3. Of course, you can buy the same product at $10-$20 at big box stores if you prefer...

There are super fancy ones, but these work perfectly and work quick for standard wiring applications in arcade/pin work.

Klein. Good quality but a bit pricy, they have a few models to choose from at your local Home Depot.

Also, check out your local pawn shops. I buy tools all the time for prices ranging from $0.50 to $20.00. ;)

And they usually have good tools, and charge next to nothing for them... At least that's how it is here in Phoenix.

I tried the one from Harbor Freight and it sucks. Even for $3.

I got these for Christmas and they work great:

Muahahaha. Beat ya to it. ;)

Hands off my stripper!... thread! :D

The ones I got from HF, I was stripping 22 AWG and had to run it through 4-5 times to get it to go. Maybe it was a different brand than what you had. But after the one use I stapled it back in the package and got my $3 bucks back!:D

These are the ones I use. I believe I got them at Radioshack as well, but that was almost a year ago. Not sure if they still have them. They seem pricey but you get what you pay for. They work wonders. Having the automatic sizer is great. Also convenient to have the cutter, crimper and manual sizers as well. I've used them to install my home theater system as well as on my game projects.

Thanks for all the input. I think I will try the ones Bit linked to they seem pretty nice and Amazon had them for 10$ or so.

I have probably got one of each type that I have collected over the years. I still really like this style. I bought one similar 15+ years ago and still use it the most of any of the stripper tools. It was great when I was doing game conversions for an operator BITD. Can quickly and accurately strip wire.
