What was your favorite game as a kid and do you own one know!!
Wow, you guy's are making me feel old. Well sense I am now 51, boy dose time fly, I graduated high school in 1976 so I was around when all video games were new. But when I was a kid we didn't have arcades, well none that I knew of anyway. The first coin op games I played were electromechanical games. Most all I came in contact with was in Department stores like Grant's ,later called Grant City and a local store called Kings. Grants had one of my favorite games a Helicopter Simulator which I wish I had one but I don't. I don't remember the names but their was a car game that had a paper roller with the road on it and you would steer the car on the paper and try to keep it on the road. Their was a jet airplane game, the flight yoke moved a plane right or left and you would shoot at planes being projected on the back ground. Then their was the sub game where you would shoot at ships, not the video one, that came later with the black and white video games. I still remember Boot Hill. But if you are talking about video games in a real arcade, a place with wall to wall games I would say the first game I always looked for and went to first was Red Baron. I loved that game. I was so sad the day I went in the arcade and it was gone. No I don't have a Red Baron. I almost found one but it sold before I got their and I haven't found one close by sense. I guess my next favorite game was SEGA Star Trek and I have 3 of them. As for laser games I always loved MACH 3 and I have 2, upright and cockpit. It's hard to pick 1 favorite. I like them all.:D

The first arcade game I ever played and fell in love with was boot hill. I was almost 6 years old and camping at Bass Lake, Ca with family and extended family, summer of 78. General store had it and I kicked butt over my older cousins who were 8 and 9. Would buy red vines and play boot hill for the whole week. I thought I was HotSht until my mom smoked me at it. I was a sore loser as I recall. Haven't picked one up yet but plan on it at some point. One of those early games that really require 2 players.

Dig Dug, Gorf, BattleZone and Robotron were some of my favorites BITD.

Dig Dug was one of the first dedicated games that I picked up and a few months ago
I bought a really nice BattleZone from fellow KLOVer SuperBee. I'm hoping to find
a collector's quality Gorf and Robotron this year.

Asteroids Deluxe-got one
Defender-I currently prefer and own a Stargate now
Tempest-got one
If I had played Millipede BITD, I'm certain I woulda been addicted-got one now

Me too but I was quite young. The helicopter sim I played, Chopper, is one of my favorites and no I don't own one but someday I will when I find one. Second is Stunt Pilot.

My next favs as a kid are Tank, Biplane and Space War all of which could be found @Peter Piper Pizza. I now own Biplane Boards but thats it.

Lastly comes Gladiator that I got hooked on in college. I own boards for one.

Ms. Pac-man, Galaxian, Mario bro's and Puzzel Bobble! Those were my favorites.

Contra, Ms pacman, Rampage, Ninja turtles, turtles in time, After Burner cockpit, where all the ones I played the most as a kid that and Popeye but I wasn't really that big on the game. I have Contra just needs side art and its done. Rampage is almost done sitting in pieces waiting for the last touch ups on the cabinet. I have the Ninja turtles game board no dedicated cabinet and I don't have Turtles in time. I have the After Burner cockpit and will be picking up the final parts this weekend for it. They where all the ones I wanted the most and now I almost have all of them. I have many other games I didn't play as a kid and like just as much maybe even better.

Super Contra and Heavy Barrel were both games I could blow a weekends worth of lawn mowing money on. I own neither, but would like too some day. - Aladdin's Castle - Chapel Hills Mall - Colorado Springs.

Gorf, Scramble, Space Invaders, Gyruss, Donkey Kong, and PacMan.

I have a few Scramble boards, no cabinet yet (Gyruss only has the one button).

I have a working Gorf, just need to restore it and put it back together.

Space Invaders, I believe/hope, is just a bad -5v - need to order a new PS (I have the swticher converter cable).

There are a few others, but those 6 were a "must".

Boy... it's tough because favorites seemed to change so often back then. I'd have to say Wizard of Wor, Donkey Kong Jr, Tron, Battlezone, Red Baron, and Tempest were stand outs for me.

Of those, we have Wizard of Wor, Donkey Kong Jr, three Battlezone, and a couple Tempest. We had a Tron and sold it. And Red Baron... let's just say not yet on that one. :)

Battlezone - got it
Joust - got it x8 (2 working, 1 JROK, 1 almost working, 3 empty cabs & a cocktail )
Robotron - got it x2 (1 upright & 1 JROK)
Sinistar - almost got it (see thread on Sinistar Simulator)
Xevious - got it on 48n1
Galaga - got it on 48n1
Time Pilot - got it on 48n1

Growing up spending my summers at the Jersey shore i played all kids of games on the boardwalk. and id say hands down my favorite game i played when i was a kid was Dragon's lair. i thought it was incredible that you could play a game that looked like a sunday morning cartoon.
that was the second game i bought when i started collection games ! and still my favorite game of all.

I had tons of favorites, but Galaga would have to be the one I played most back in the day. And yes, I do own one "know". :)

I had a lot of favorites, but just picked one up this past weekend:
