Ok - I have a Williams row - Defender / Stargate / Joust / Moon Patrol / Robotron / and Make Trax...

Just got the Make Trax working - WTF??? That game is LAME! They had such cool games - what were they thinking with this one?

Am I just over reacting?

Yes. If you can't appreciate and under-stated classic, don't get games you've never played. ;)

Try to beat 100,000 on it before you decide it's lame. I'd say it's only boring to the unimaginative....

yeah my wife likes Kangaroo and Arabian - That's pretty much the only time those games get played in my collection - but even she doesnt like Make Trax... lol.

I guess my point was that Williams really did release some cool games - what made them pull the trigger on this one?

I never played Make Trax before I don't even remember seeing it in the arcades back in the days, do you have a video of the gameplay so I can check it out?

If you have played a 48-in-1 or a 60-in-1, it is the same game as Crush Roller...

I think its a stinker too. Better then their ultimate stinker -Mystic Marathon.
Ditch the Make Trax and put Sinistar in its place. It fits in a lot better with Williams other brutal games. ;)

I have one on my Williams row also and I suck at Make Trax!!!!!!!!! I mean really suck!!!!!!!! I can't even clear the first screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It plays a whole lot better with a speedup modification. Even Pacman was lame before the Ms Pac mazes version and the speedup chip.

It is time we set things straight. And yes, I will get a lot of crap for this but I believe I am entitled to my own opinion.

Make Trax and Mystic Marathon are both great games. Better than Stargate or Defender if you ask me.

Make Tracks was (obviously) a game developed by another company as "Crush Roller", and Williams must have been offered the U.S. rights to distribute it for a reasonable price. They didn't have anything "pac like" that had been developed internally (just space shooter type stuff and Joust), so it probably made good sense to them at the time.

This is actually how Atari ended up distirbuting some of their most memorable titles. They were involved in a lawsuit with Namco, and ended up being offered the US rights to Dig Dug, Xevious, Pole Position and others! Imagine a world where Atari DIDN'T release those games...

Make Trax is awesome, and quite a challenge as well. I've had mine for about a month now, and can still only get to the 3rd screen...

All Williams games are great in their own aspects... different games for different demographics. (Grandma or mom would much rather play Make Trax than Sinistar, trust me)

This game was at the last auction. Someone that spoke quite favorably of the game. He said that while it was an acquired taste(the more you play it the more you like it), he said it gets crazy fast and super challenging. He said he liked it much better than ms pac IIRC. I know it must suck to begin with, but if you give it enough of a chance to get decent at it, this guy talked like it would grow on you and be worth your time. But hey, that's just what I heard.
