What was this cabinet in its first life?

So I am looking to pickup my second cabinet and I found a Crystal Castles (which happens to be high on my want list) that plays blind. Hopefully I'll be able to get it for less than the eBay starting big price. After further inspection it looks like a conversion so I was curious if anyone can ID the cabinet. I likely wouldn't convert it back but was just curious more than anything.

What about Dig Dug? Any serial info on the back?

Hopefully I'll head there some time this week to check it out. Its a 3 hour drive one way so its gonna have to be worth it to take that trip.

Dig Dug or Kangaroo. Centipede does not have an over/under coin door. Atari made a Crystal Castles conversion kit specifically for the Dig Dug cabinet.

While I think Atari had a good idea with these conversion kits, I wish they did a better job of the side art. There's just too much empty white space. They did a better job for the Missile Command kit IMHO.

Their moppet conversion kit was pretty good

Any screen burn? Maybe the monitor could tell you.

Is there a back door sheet?

Otherwise, look for remnants of of the old control panel holes.

My money is also on Dig Dug.

Well I was finally able to pick this up and it was <drumroll> a Kangaroo. Pretty low serial too, 395. You can still see the Kangaroo artwork raised a bit on the white parts of the side art. It looks like there might be another sticker underneath but I don't want to peel off the current one.
