What was the original Defender Upright Cab Monitor size and model ?

Hi! i was looking for general info on the original monitor used in the defender upright cab that is what size (19" ?) and model.
I am looking at some NOS 20" screens with frame and wondering if they may fit ok.

Cheers!

All Defender upright cabinets used 19" monitors. The early production runs used WG 4900's. Sometime in mid-production WG had trouble supplying enough monitors and Williams started substituting Electrohome G07's. Sometime during Stargate or Robotron they started using WG 4600's and 4600's were the replacement monitors sold for all Williams video games through Sinistar.

You can use a 20" monitor, but you may need to redrill the mounting holes to get it centered correctly.

Actually, they all used 19" horizontal (a.k.a "Shelf" ) mount monitors in the uprights.

There were FOUR different models from THREE monitor manufacturers used:

Wells 4600

Electrohome G07

Hantarex MTC900

Wells 4900

i have a Hantarex MTC900E in a SNOW BROS. cab. i had to hook up a 48 in 1 in it for a customer. it had such a beautiful picture i cant even believe it. holy mackerel !
i think its my "right now" favorite monitor. anyway, then something fried and i couldnt figure out what went wrong. :(
beyond me anyway. i think if i buy an oscilliscope, that could help me fix it. MAYBE. i took it in to this new place i found for a fix. aint going to like paying for that but my customer shouldnt have to wait for me to buy a 'scope.

Only problem with developing an obsession about Defender is you get obsessive about being obsessive to the point where obsession is its own obsession and .... sound of water going down the gurgler ..... or was that money down the drain .....
this means i'll now have to source a hantarex, wells 4500, wells 4900 or g07 monitor or Defender just wont feel right without it! AAAAARG!

Hope you guys dont mind me asking lots of questions as it is amazing how much there is to learn about just this one classic game!
