What was first game with buy in continues

First one I remember seeing was Gauntlet. But we didn't get many new games in my neck of the....um...prairies.

Moon patrol

I agree..I believe Moon Patrol was the first...at least that is the first one I remember being able to add quarters and continue...I remember playing it at a local 7-11...LOL...

Space Wars?

Yeah, Cinematronics' Space Wars was from 1977, and added gameplay time automatically when additional quarters were inserted. I wonder if other arcade games which were implementations of the original 1962 computer game Spacewar! also had the continue feature? If so, Computer Space (1971) and Galaxy Game (1971) would be the first; not only the first with continues, but the first coin-op videogames of any sort.

I was for sure that "time" sensitive games, lunar lander would be one, but off that, Moon Patrol was said to be first, my game of choice, Rygar, was the first game I remember pumping quarters into to keep my spot, and since I own one now, still a favorite, however, I vaguely remember Russn Attack doing the same thing at the arcade I went to, but I dont remember. I do remember the PC10 with the 300 seconds.......man I wish I had a good classic arcade to attend.......
