Hey guys,
Where can I find Lunar Lander thruster rbld. parts (bushings/rubbers/springs/etc) OTHER than Ram Controls? Does anybody make the plastic cover for the thruster?

I've been out of the hobby and off klov for quite a while, come back and find out that Ram Controls has been running a Ponzi scheme on the collectors! Before I phased out he wasn't sending parts, then I hear a local guy come forward who had sent a deposit on a cockpit but didn't know the true scope of the fiasco and that he had his own forum sub-section...

Half of me wishes I had gotten on the bandwagon when I heard about repro thrusters, half of me is gracious that my laziness and lack of love for the hobby saved me a huge headache.

Did anybody ever recieve a complete Ram Controls L.L. truster?! Looks beautiful in the pics, is it as nice as it looks?

Are there plans any of the parts guys have to reproduce the thruster parts or is it a dead project?

Sorry for all the questions, I just don't know! :p

I think there is one on ebay now but it may be an original. From what I heard they were great if you ever got one.

Hey EVB, thanks for the reply and heads up on the ebay thruster.

It looks exactly like what I'm dealing with on mine, cigarette burn on the plastic cover, fubar'ed old bushings... She was rode hard and put away wet!

I went through mine a few months ago and spiffed it all up, painted the base, polished all the metal, cleaned the hell out of it. She works OK with the old bushings but there is slop and it is not as smooth as it should be. I've taken the bushings/washers to Home Depot, Lowes, Grainger, etc. and cannot find a match with the same thickness. My plastic cover is nice and pretty but has a warp from a cigarette that drives me bonkers on a machine that will be 110% when I finish my labor on it.

It kills me that RAM has all the crap that I need LISTED on their webpage but dealing with them is like banging a hooker with sypholis, herpes and the clap without wearing a rubber!

I have access to Machinists at my job and they are pretty cool. If you guys provide me a bushing and the parts it mate to, I probably can have new bushings fabbed up. They made some oil impregnated bushings for my spy hunter steering column to mate up with my NOS steering yoke and it turned out awesome. All I had to do was hook them all up with breakfast burritos. For your stuff, you'd have to cover the burritos +1 for me ;P

As for other venders selling new thrusters. I dont know of any. I have a few extra new ones, but dont think I want to let any go. I need one for the 2nd lander im building. The other one I was planning on seeing if I can get it reproduced, if that happens there should be a supply again. Well I prob shouldnt say again since these never were really available. I was very lucky to get my order before Ram Controls emploded.

I have one complete NOS Thruster Assembly and I had an NOS plastic cover but I sent it off to pheniousfoo (sp?) for reproduction but have not gotten it back, even after repeated PM's and emails. He said it was mailed to me 3 or 4 times but nothing. I think he stole it along with other KLOVer's parts that were sent in for reproduction.

Does anybody have a Pinneas Foo reproduction cover or did they even ever get made?
I haven't been around Klov and the link one of you sent me to had someone call b.s. on him!

He didn't return your cover Stephen? Damn, that effin' sucks. I'll ask one of the Oregon locals about this and see if he can lay any pressure on and bug him to get it returned.

I'm afraid to even ask how much an NOS Lunar Lander assembly is. I wish that I had money blowing out my pockets to afford such luxuries but I don't! Do you accept large canine's or small children for partial trade? :)

I guess my main problem is the 2x nylon bushings and 2x washers on the main thruster shaft... Are those reproduced or available individually? Do you have any washers or bushings for sale Stephen? I don't see 'em listed on your page...

Thanks SaminVA... I had a very similar idea with the rubber bumpers, but hadn't bothered starting on the bumper quest since I knew that was the least mission critical for rebuilding of my existing thruster. But you provided me with the dimensions and saved me a bunch of legwork figuring it out on my own when I get there!
