Perusing ebay I saw this Z-back that someone did up... What the heck?

These were aftermarket panels for Dynamo cabinets to allow for more space to play trackball games like Golden Tee. They were made by a company called GEI Amusements. Someone obviously modified this to fit a 3-KOAM K-3.

you could set like 17 lit cigs, 4 cigars, and 11 beers simultaneously on that control panel wtf :oops2:
Nah, it has an "optimized" angle to keep them from sitting.

The beer would slide right off.

I almost was going to put in a Don reference in my original post but couldn't come up with something witty. You know the man would chime in with all the right info.

When "Longer is better" is more fitting than "bigger is better"

This panel was a sign of the times. This was the mid to late 90's, Fighters had tanked and the arcade scene was dwindling fast. The only new game making steady money in the long term was Golden Tee (Bill Cravens was right) and it just made sense to try to repurpose these fighter cabs into Golden Tee units.

It also took me years to ID that control panel.

It makes sense as the gameplay of golden tee had people doing a quasi Nazi-solute on the trackball. If there wasn't enough space, you'd just bang your hand on the glass.

I hit the trackball so hard on Golden Tee on the dedicated cabs and still smash my hand on the glass.

Every time.

...even when putting.
