what to do with "too much juke" feedback..

I'd tell him to buy some 45's to donate to the juke (or CD's if it takes them) otherwise let him plug the headphones on his 1970's iTunes and forget him. Or just put a BIG ASS sign over the juke that says "If you don't like the tunes I'm playing then donate some discs".

One word of warning though, if you shut down the juke for this jhole, he will find something else to complain about.

Sounds like a person you cant make happy. Just keep doing what you like, cant let one sour apple spoil the fun for everyone.

As a side note, I have a touch screen juke in the cade'. Most nights I have it going and just let people put in what ever they want. I like it because I dont have to play DJ all night long. My complete library is in there so there is a mix of all decades.
On my more "serious" game nights, where I will have mostly collectors and players of classic video games, I go without music. We are usually discussing game strategies, talking about restorations, and playing games. There is plenty of sound right there. I really don't remember much music being piped into the arcades I went to BITD.

Yeah, the juke is a 45 juke. I thought people would prefer the music in there, but maybe at the next function I'll just plug the juke in and leave it go unattended (meaning I won't set up any songs).

I used to DJ for a number of years. At the events where people could get close enough to talk to you there would always be those who would request a song which was not a big deal. Although I would still stick by the rule that if I thought not enough people would enjoy it I probably wouldn't play it. Then there was always the one person who would come up and demand that I play a certain song or style of music. Usually accompanied by some asinine statement like "if you don't play this (insert song or style of music) no one will dance." I would more or less never play a song requested in this manner unless it was a song I planned on playing any way. Even then I played it when I wanted to. Basically they have every right to not come to your events or hang out in another room and watch TV or whatever. For me if they feel they need to be there and not participate in a certain element no big deal. If they want me to cater to what they want they had better be paying me to host the event just for them. Other wise I do what I fell appeals to the majority of the people and my personal vision.

thats a really good idea.

I just f'ing hate miserable people.

You've answered your own question my friend.I would not change a thing about what you are doing. If this person wants to act that way, then I wouldn't have them around to be honest. And if they are the only one, then even more reason not to change anything.I mean,a business is not going to be labeled a horrible business and/or close shop just because of one complaint.I would honestly never invite this person over if I were you.I need people like that in my life like an arcade cabinet needs water. No thanks.

I don't see the problem here.

If a visitor (whether family, friend or foe) to my arcade doesn't like the jukebox or anything else I may have in there...then the hell with them.

If they're such a downer/egomaniac/idiot that they're incredibly bothered by such a non-issue, then they can just stay home and watch Dancing with the Stars.

If I were to change anything, I'd replace the Human League and Bananarama songs with some choice Norwegian black metal.

I guess what I worry most about is, say I kill the music as they wish when they are there. What are they going to bitch about in its place?

I think that's the key right there. Some people are not happy unless they're bitching about something. You fix one thing, they WILL find something else.
