I bought an empty Midway cabinet today that I'm not sure what to do with. The seller stated he didn't know what it was originally, but that it was possibly a pac-man or ms. pac. I was hoping for a cabinet that I could restore to either, but it turned out to be a super pac. Took 2 seconds to figure it out. The whole cabinet has been painted gray, and it doesn't look like anyone sells reproduction super pac art, aside from a cpo and marquee I have found. Is the cabinet identical to a Ms. Pac, other than the 2 triangles notched in the wood towards the top? Is leather textured t-molding standard on these? Do traced paint jobs ever turn out nice.

I thought about filling in those triangles and making it into a Ms. Pac, but not sure how to go about that either.

I just took apart a nice Super Pac yesterday that I had bought recently. The inside of the super pac is not much different than my Ms. Pac. There are more boards, but you can easily modify your cabinet to run a pac man board. The artwork for the super pac isnt very complicated. Here is a link for the artwork. http://vectorlib.free.fr/SuperPac/

I actually like the slight improvements they made to the cabinet over the pac and ms.pac cabinets that I have.

I had a Super Pac that was painted black around the side art.Since the artwork was painted on,you probably won't find any repro side art,but you should be able to find stencils for it and paint it yourself. You might try to private message someone like pr0k or RikiTiki about it,those guys do great work.I honestly wouldn't bother trying to patch the grooves to make it look more like a Ms Pac.It would be too much work and not worth it in my opinion.

Last year I restored a Galaxian Cocktail. It was trashed, and had been converted to a Ms Pac. So rather than find an original Galaxian board and controls, I made it look like an original Galaxian (arcadeshop artwork), but installed a 60-in-1. I feel like that was a sacrifice, but at least it was stealth and looked very nice. I would do the same with the Super Pac, unless you have an inexpensive source for the original boards. In my opinion, the Super Pac is a killer looking game. Get the stencils and dive in, but keep the control panel original and just play the games that will work without sacrificing the original design of the game.

Nice link! I may do that if I can figure out how to do stencils. so much to learn...

This is exactly how I feel about the whole thing, I just needed a little confirmation.

Only problem is the stencils business. I've never done it and don't know where to begin. So like anything else in this hobby, I'll start searching, reading, and learning.

about a year ago i bought a working SUPER PAC MAN.

put it in my storage unit because of lack of space in my house/restoration center.

not sure what to do with it but i love the cabinet

I have a Super Pac. I bought it for $50. The monitor chassis needed repair but otherwise it worked. I touched up the artwork and it looks okay, maybe a 6 or 7 out of 10.

It's an okay game but not as good as the original or Ms., in my opinion. I'd find someone with a working game and play it for a bit before embarking on a restoration.
