I recently came across a nice acquisition. I managed to get a working Klax and a Tetris from my work for FREE. They are both still on location so I havent had a chance to open them up and see what the issues may be, but I know Klax turns on and there is a picture (havent tried to play it yet). My delima is this. I know I will try to part at least the tetris out. Hopefully the monitor is still functional and it never hurts to have a spare 19" laying around (with very little to no burn might I add) and while the boards may not be worth much, very little bit of money helps. The Klax, I'm not so sure about. I havent played it and I know its a take it or leave it kinda game. What do you all think? Part it out? Turn it into a 60 in one of some sort??? Any ideas out there? ...I do have plenty of space left in the arcade for another game...I guess I could just keep it as is too....

Depends entirely on if it's dedicated or a conversion. You'll get more money parting it out, but I'd feel pretty terrible about parting a dedicated game. If it's a conversion, sell off the board, art, etc and drop a 19-in-1 or whatever in it.

If it's dedicated, I'd fix it up and sell it. Even for a game that isn't in high demand, you'll make a buck since you got it for free.

If your lucky the klax might be in the deicated cabinet. Klax is 2 player 1 button jamma. Tetris depends on which flavor. Atari is most common is also 2 joystick 1 button jamma.

I would keep the klax if its dedicated. Its an excellent jamma cab. You can easily add buttons to the harness and the monitor is easy to rotate.

Neither cab is going to be worth a bunch of money. Converting them to 60 in 1 would probably fetch more, but not all horizontal cabs will let you turn the monitor vertical.

The dedicated Klax cabinet is awesome. It's easy to rotate the monitor, the bit of wood the monitor bolts to (not sure of the technical term) has cutouts for both orientations. The PCB, PS & CP are all mounted up on a sliding drawer, so you have front access to everything. And the power switch is up top where it's easy to reach but out of the way. Really nice cabinet.

I'm pretty certain it is not a dedicated cab, but I could be wrong. I'll try to post some pics once I get them out of there and into my place. Thanks for the ideas!
