I will be in the Denver area this weekend on business but will have a decent amount of free time for fun and was wondering if anyone had any arcade/pinball places that I need to go see. I will be staying 30 minutes south of downtown if that helps at all.

Thanks,
Tim

I will most likely try to get to a game on Sunday seeing they are playing my Chicago Cubbies. Are there any suds places that I should go to? Or just the general idea of having a few brews?

Yup. Check out the lodo area around Coors field!

Hit 1Up. It is a new arcade inspired bar like barcade. I used to live in CO and I have several buddies that have gone and said it is sweet. If you like coffee/espresso, hit Cafe Paris (I think that is the name) it is quite close to the Denver skate park and Coors field. They brew up pitchers of cappuccino in there- I think like 6 shots of espresso in a pitcher, which is flippin incredible.

There is also a great dive bar in the downstairs of a motel on Colfax that has a handful of classics- Joust, DK, Ms Pac, and a few others as I recall. Sounds crazy to go to a motel bar, but that place is packed on the weekends and it is the kind of place you could hear beat it play on the dance floor and some chick may try to start a knife fight with you. Depending on what you are into, it is a great place! I will work on getting the name of it, as I only know where it is.

Good times to be had in CO!

There is a place in LoDo called, I believe, the Falling Rock Tap, or Falling Rock Tavern, that is a great pub! Pretty close to Coors Field, too, if memory serves correctly... Drive up into the Mountains, too, if you have the time! Red Rocks Amphitheater in nearby Morrison, in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, is usually open to the public during the spring, summer, and fall... No cost to walk through it and soak up some music history!

Have a good trip, I love Denver! Have a cousin and a close friend who both live in the area...

The Falling Rock Tap House is 2 doors down from 1Up. I was at 1Up last night - cool place - and have been to the tap house often. I recommend both.

I think I am going to go to this place tonight. Should be there around 7pm in a blue hoddie and cubs hat if anyone wants to say hi.

if you go next door to lyons, there's a place called oskar blues which has a big arcade on the bottom.

but i forgot, another thing you could do is what i do - wish you lived someplace better. it can get boring and old after doing it for a while, though.

Thank you guys for the suggestion on the lyonspinball place. That was a great use of a few hours and 15 bucks of quarters. A great selection and machines seemed to be working pretty darn good. The best part about it I was able to play a bunch of games that I never have before or can't remember ever playing such as DE Star Wars, Twilight Zone, and Williams Indian Jones, just to name a few. Cleverlyj I also went next door and spent my other 5 bucks playing the classics, so thanks for that heads up.

Now I just need to find a place in Chicago that has that many pinballs.

Damn, did you guys go today? I wound up there for a few hours today, 3 till about 7. I totally forgot this thread. I raped AFM, needed 2 cities for rule the universe closest I have ever been. Always an adventure. Glad you had fun, it's a little slice of heaven.

I went Friday night from 7 to 9. I might try hitting the 1up place tomorrow after the baseball game, if I go. Still not sure if I will have time with work. Score wise nothing special on any of the pinball's really just wanted to try one of everything and I am kind of lazy and didn't want to read the rule sets just wanted to hit the button and watch the silver thing bounce around and hopefully set off some bonuses.

So I ended up making it to the Rockies game today and got an awesome seat from a scalper for double face value but still cheaper then what it would cost to see it in Wrigley. I stopped at the 1up place after the game and it was supper crowded and hot as hell in there. I was going to buy a beer and play a couple of games but couldn't find a change machine and really didn't want to wait in line for both a beer and change so I said forget it and headed back to the hotel. Coors field is very nice so I am glad that I went.
