No, just expressing that I share his frustration, but at the same time I understand that these things ARE going to happen from time to time.

while i would not completely disagree with that statement, i have many KLOVers that have given me many good deals, and i have returned the favor many times.

KLOV isn't innately good or bad. it is what we make it. :)

If we could all just agree to not buy anything arcade game related for a year, prices would plummet.

Who's in?

I still think Defender is a $400 game. I am clearly stuck in a time where games and PCB's were a lot cheaper. However, like everything, prices are way up and wages are the same. A couple of years ago, I wanted to sell everything and be done with it. I figured I could just buy back what I wanted. I am REALLY glad I didn't do that. It is nearly impossible to find games around here unless you have really deep pockets.

Things are worth what people are willing to pay

Not what I've been seeing on Craigslist, eBay, and yes, KLOV the past year or two. The shit sits unsold for months if not years because sellers refuse to lower prices to what people are willing to pay.

I don't know, this and other collector's sites were always the place to go for non CL/ebay prices. Now it seems like they are no different. $600 for some Paperboy handlebars WTF?!

I'm ok about the pricing to each their own. What irks me more are folks just scooping up good deals on games they don't even want and storing/hoarding them to markup or use as trade bait. It seems like more and more collectors are just buying for the sake of hoarding and flipping. Leave that stuff for someone that actually wants the game.

If not for hoarders yesterday, there would not be honeyholes today. Not everybody can be everywhere at once. If someone pulls something out of oblivion, that may make it available for somebody else. Or, they may just hoard it for the future.

There's actually a new unassembled kit for $1k as of this morning.

OP sold me a 3rd Strike set up years ago at a good price.

And when I say 'good', I mean less than half what I have seen them go for on feebay recently.

Stopped collecting a few years ago and thus ignored the rise in pricing. Imagine my surprise/sticker shock when I got back in this year to start collecting 80s classics to go along with my 90s fighters.

Having said that....the deals are still out there. The most I have paid for a working cab this year was $300, I'm actually averaging $200. You can see in my sig or vaps what I've been picking up, and I've missed out on some smokin' deals too. Patience and a sharp eye, my man. And more time checking cl/offerup/letgo than I want to admit or have time for, but whatever...
