Searched around and didn't find many specifics. Whenever there is a question about speakers, there's a lot of technical discussion that goes on. What I'd like to know is exactly what speakers you guys have used to replace your old ones and how you like them. I have a Chase HQ that I'm fixing up that sounds horrible and the speakers are shot. I know Bob Roberts sells some, but I like to order multiple items from him when I place an order, not just one or two.

So, show me your speakers and tell me where you got them. Thanks.

Bought ALNICO speakers. While they don't give you the same amount of sound, I did have a need for them because Of a ms Pac man cocktail machine with degaussing issues.
Basically while the speaker sound great the magnetic field was just to great and was causing the color red to show up on the edge of the screen. Replacing the monitor didn't help. Replacing the speaker with a alnico speaker cure the problem.

I have used ones like twisted quarters. They work great. Sometime replacing a speaker will change the tones of the music and sounds. A new speaker responds better than an old soft speaker. I have two galagas one with a original speaker and one with the new one. At least with me and my friends you can tell the difference when they are sitting side to side. We swapped speakers and boards to see if we can still tell them apart. While it's hard to tell them playing alone. It was easy to tell them apart when they are playing side to side.

I usually use these. They substantially increase the value of the games.

You need to check your instruction manual for the resistance on your existing speakers. For games like my Turbo and ROTJ, they aren't 8ohms like most dealers carry. Www.parts-express.com has a lot of speakers at relatively low prices. You can search by size and ohms and get a bunch of different options.

I usually try to go with the 6x9 shielded speakers from Bob Roberts if I can make it fit. The shielding means they won't interfere with the monitor picture and they are a great improvement over originals. And they're only bout 10 bucks each not counting shipping.

Bingo!!!! The Ohm rating (measurement of resistance) is most important here. A radio shack multimeter can easily read ohms. You probably can find the ohm rating on the speakers as well, it's symbol is a horseshoe/omega symbol. Typically youre safe at 8 ohms, some games are at 4 ohms.
