I have the PCB bug now, so I have a few ideas, maybe you can add to them?

I thought of:
  • Asteroids screen centreing circuit (Like Lunar Lander and BZ have) - (Early idea stage)
  • Amplifone Neckboard - so a normal TV 11 Pin socket can be used to make a harness (Designed)
  • AR1 Atari Regulator Bare PCB (Started)
  • The little Lunar Lander DAC circuit PCB - allowing the thruster to work on an Asteroids Multi (I need permission here, of course)
  • Amplifone Deflection is next still after the HV is done (Discussion phase now)
Any others?

I would like to get some ideas happening, show us your creativity guys :)

I hear the small sound module on Lethal Enforcers tends to go bad because of bad caps but unfortunately they're sealed in resin, although there's a custom chip on there that would have to be either salvaged or reverse engineered and substituted, but it might be nice to have a fresh board to start with.

I second this. There are three designs for the konami modules I think. They are fairly simple but dual sided on the original. The custom chip would have to be removed from the underside and placed on the new pcb if this was designed. Someone would make some cash if they designed a replacement. Failure of the originals is inevitable if it hasn't already happened. And its happening more every day.

I haven't verified my design is 100% correct yet (lack of time), but you're more then welcome to use it. I personally would need 3 boards.

I third, forth and fifth the konami custom sound boards. They are encased in epoxy, have caps that leak, and eventually kill the sound on every board that has them. Although I do hear they have a custom ic on some of them. It would be nice to just get a replacement that can be quickly soldered in with a hot air gun. Its why you can't find an X-men pcb that still has the sound, and why they are fetching so high when they do.

Zookeeper coin processor board
19v2000 deflection board (traces tend to lift..interest??)

I would like to see a redesign of the HV board in the 19v2000. With a new flyback and a more common easier to find HV diode. What ever came of all that talk of an Omega race motherboard replacement?

Another idea is for BW vector chassis'

A little pot board away from the main board - like they have on raster chassis'

So the contrast and brightness adjustments etc, can be away from the live parts and easy for us to see

1) The little daughter board on the Stargate MPU board. I must have 10 or more boards without the daughter board or it's broken if it did come with it.

2) The overvoltage protection board for Defender power supplies. (It is in the Stargate drawing set)

3) A multi-jamma switcher that works....:D

Oh ditto that to the 100th power, the only decent one I've heard of was Cowgil's, and that was expensive and is not made anymore. The other 6-JAMMA one I know how has to be hacked to support -5vdc and has a stupid wireless remote nobody really wants, and I think all available switches have the power supply powering all the boards at the same times regardless.

If somebody could design a mutli-Sente ROM card that somehow defeats the security chip that would be awesome too! :D Try finding a Snake Pit card, yikes...
