What should the next wiring Harness be?

You should make the rainbow connectors for the 2 board Nintendo boardsets. Mike's Arcade has them for $10 +shipping, but they are all white wires and don't look the same. I have at least 3 Ninty boardsets that I need rainbow connectors for. Also, if you do the Nintendo CP wiring harness, are you also going to do the Popeye/DK3/Later DKJR molex style as well? I think there is an equal if not greater demand for those.

Arcadeshop sells rainbow connectors with colored wires for $5 + shipping.

Show me a pic of the cp connector that you are talking about, so far I have only come across the small black ones where the pins always break off.

I did not know that AS even had these. Sweet.

...and Bob Roberts has been making them even longer. I find it interesting that no one has thought to use Molex connectors with Trifurcon pins knowing the common problems associated with IDC connectors.

Alex's are IDC... mine have always been crimp. Trifurcon's fine, but overkill since the circuits aren't current bearing...

I have a vs. machine that I'm going to convert to DK, I can imagine I'm going to need a new harness. I'd be down for one.

There's also a real need for the Nintendo pcb edge connector side that will marry to your small connector CP harnesses. Particularly for the 2-board versions of DK, DK Jr, and DK3.

I just had this scenario happen where I wanted to convert a DK Jr. with the multiple small harnesses to a DK 3. Well the DK3 board will not work unless you switch to an edge connector set-up. You cannot do that without the adapter harnesses that marry the two set-ups together.

The DK3 manual illustrates what I am talking about on page 18, figure 3-2.

I will have to see if I have 1 of these available locally to compare it, and see if I can find the connectors.

I am well aware of this, and the prototype for this is due out later this week. I am not sure that we are going to go ahead with this project for a couple of reasons. The cost of the connectors to do it, has me leaning against it for one. There is also a Nintendo edge adapter already out there in play. We may have a cost effective solution for this problem, but aren't ready to talk about it openly just yet.

Dokert how about the Berzerk wiring harness I'm sure theres people that need those. I still havnt had achance to drop mine by to you....Thankyou.....Dave

Thread revived from almost a year ago, holy crap. I had no idea he was still taking request.

I am always taking requests.

I believe that this old thread got reincarnated, due to my slow response to a pm.

Trying to build up a stock pile of Williams harness' right now. No clue what the next big project will be at this time. Have been dedicating a lot of time to my own game projects lately.
