What should the next wiring Harness be?

Hi Dave! How about a Scramble Harness?

Really doesn't make sense to do harnesses for games that have cheap JAMMA adapters available.

Sorry Brian, Scramble is not worth my time to do.

Ok, so are they still available?

I can make you up one. It seems that I have lost my notes on the Robo mini AC harness though. (I would need a template again for the AC harness) When I did this one there was only two people interested, and I only put out one as the other person was not ready for it yet.

Only if you can make them able to bypass the filterboard.

I will have to take a closer look at the documentation, but on the surface it sounds do able.

Bally/Stern pinball :)

This is in the works for next summer when I tackle my Flash Gordon ground up restore. Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't most of the Bally / Stern heads wired the same by production era?

Haven't read all the responses so I apologize if it is redundant, but...

2. Nintendo Harness for CP

...seems like the most logical if you're looking for a widespread, across the board demand.

You've already tackled Defender, so just making more harnesses really doesn't expand your base of demand.

And as for Moon Patrol, not as prevalent a need as the Nintendo harness.

My 2 cents.

Current numbers are...
Moon Patrol 4
Nintendo (DK series) control panel 3
Defender 2nd run 0

And a whole host of other requests, namely Q*bert.

The short answer is not really. The pinout from board to board is technically the same from game to game but there are some differences in the harnesses. Specifically positioning of the boards within the head. That said... you could probably come up with a harness that would be usable in most games.

or, like the williams, as daves approach has been accurate reproduction, a series of harnesses by game or harness type :D

That would be really cool. The only problem is it's a much more complicated harness and there are 10x as many games.

That said... if he builds some I'll definitely buy them :)

Don't forget Pole Position x2...

Anybody besides Frizz need a Pole Position wiring harness?

When I said era, I was referring to the pinball version of a series. I will have to take a look at some scats, and see if it can be done by "series". Kind of like Williams System 6 series, does that even make any sense?

My Wife is working a deal for a Burgertime, and if it goes through I will take a look into doing a Burgertime harness.

I have been contemplating a Q*bert harness for my wife, but was unaware that there is a need for them.

Yeah, i have been trying for a while not to find a Q*bert harness with no luck, same with Burgertime.

That makes sense. I figured that's what you meant. Like I said the pinout from board to board will be the same from game to game. The schematics will confirm that. The problem is that the harnesses will have different wire lengths from game to game in many cases. There would be quite a few games where you could get away with using the same harness but as many or more where you would not because while the pinouts are correct the harness won't properly fit in the head. The displays would be the biggest problem. They're in a lot of different configurations though the boards are in different configurations on some games.

Williams would be a lot easier than Bally. There are less games and less variation in the harnesses.

Honestly I was kind of joking about the Bally harnesses. It's really not practical to reproduce (IMO).
