My time is limited because it is Football season and there is only 24 hours in a day. I have been contacted by a lot of people wanting different wiring harness', as well as custom wiring harness'. I need a little help in deciding which one to produce next.

What would you be interested in having produced next?

Options are:
  1. Moon Patrol (main wiring harness)
  2. Nintendo Control Panel harness (DK Series)
  3. Defender (main wiring harness 2nd run)
The cost question will obviously come up, and the only one that I currently have cost info on is the Defender $65 + $10 shipping. I will be trying to keep the Nintendo (DK Series) CP harness under $20 shipped. Moon Patrol is a weird one, and I will be trying to bring it in at roughly $50 + $5 shipping. The only one that is set in stone is the Defender, the other two could possibly end up being priced lower.

Hi Dokert!

I've been looking for a burgertime and gunsmoke harness if you happen to have either of these?

Sorry, can't help you there right now.

How did the Joust cocktail harness go? Or don't I want to ask...

Came out Beautiful, can't wait to see it installed. I have all of the extra parts needed to make one more of them for whoever needs it. The AC harness came out really nice too.

Ya know Dave - you could start taking orders for custom harnesses and make a crap load of money. When a person needs a harness and there are no used ones to be had - you can darn near name your own price. Knowing you - you're not a money grubbing beyotch and I'm sure you'd price them decently. For instance when Quarterarcade lists a wiring harness that has a few connectors missing for $75.00 would it be worth $75.00 to you (parts and labor) to make a new one? (If I needed one) I would gladly pay you for a new harness instead of buying an old brittle harness.

Are all the Nintendo Control Panel Wiring Harness's the same and compatible? Or are you looking at specific games?

I am hoping to be able to do just that eventually. (Make custom harness' to people's needs)

Sorry, should have been more specific. DK series Nintendo Control Panel harness.

Pole Position

Frizz, you can't even give away a PP. Why would any sane person make a new harness that would be worth more than the game it is going into?

Shark Attack

Anything for you Joey.

Stop by sometime...

Ya know Dok... you could always just drive down to my place and show me how to make these. I would be glad to help you out.

Got a question for you Dave,
Do you know if they make or if there is a source for the odd housings that connect
the control panel to the main harness on Nintendo games such as MB, Vs, Punchout, etc?
I have always assumed that they were obsolete (and I'm still under that impression) just wondering. I'm making my own MB harness from scratch so it doesn't matter much at this point. But it would be nice to know for future projects.
Also, my vote is for the DK series CP harness. I've seen a lot of these that have been hacked for whatever reason.

seeing as my man dick millikan is hooking me up with a great swordsman pcb
I vote for great swordsman. :O)

Yes, it looks damn beautiful. Can't wait to install it -- hopefully it will be installed soon. Project is taking longer than expected, but eventually will get there.

My vote - Nintendo CP

Doug, I don't travel well. Part of the reason that I hosted all of the repair parties prior to the NW Pinball and Game Room Show. You are welcome to stop by almost anytime.

I believe that they are obsolete, but there may be a viable Molex solution IIRC what Ken Layton was saying.

Multi Williams control panel harness!

I have not forgotten about you. I just ordered the connectors for the header on Clay's widget. They should be in beginning of next week.

I suggest Moon Patrol from the provided list but I do think you would sell a lot more of the PPs.

Most PP's that I have seen of late have been hard pressed to get $125 in working condition.

Never heard of it.

LMK if you need some of the harness routing plastic clip things. I have a bunch of different sizes, and will just send you what you need free for this project.

I would go with Moon Patrol next, you have done most of the Williams already. Would love to see the Moon Patrols get some love:)

PP

(Most PP's that I have seen of late have been hard pressed to get $125 in working condition.)

I think that is because most people that want one, have one already. The boards are still fetching 150$-$200.

I would still rather have a Moon Patrol harness BTW.

So far it appears that Moon Patrol or Nintendo (DK series) control panel is going to be next up. Need a lot more input for the Nintendo (DK series) control panel in order to justify the initial cost out lay.

Moon Patrol 2
Nintendo (DK series) control panel 2
Defender 2nd run 0
