Just got a disappointing package, please let me know what my expectations should have been so I can handle things properly.

Perhaps you can be a little more descriptive of what you're disappointed in. Was it a packaging issue? Does the board not work? Are there parts missing? What game is it? How many boards are involved? These kinds of things.

I would expect it to look exactly like the pictures I closely examined before I made the purchase. You DID look at photos first, right?

NOS only means it's old and hasn't been used, but that doesn't mean it's been stored carefully or cared for in the least.

My other expectation is that it would be packaged carefully to arrive in the condition it was in when I examined the photos before pulling the trigger on the sale.

See the pattern here? Always get photos of something claimed to be NOS. NOS does not mean mint condition.

I hope you didn't get duped. NOS is an over used term that people use to screw people into thinking they are buying something in brand new condition.

Universal board in a cage along with Universal sticker thing. Cage is rusted, the Universal sticker was taped onto the cage with packing tape, any attempt at removing the packing tape has only started to tear the sticker.

I'm trying to open the cage right now to see what the PCB looks like, but one of the screws is stripped...

Packing was ridiculous, a piece of cardboard was wrapped around the cage and that was it, two sides completely open to the elements.

Ugh. Wished I'd realized. The words used were "brand new kit". If I bought a car, left it in the elements for 30 years and claimed it was brand new because I didn't run it it would never fly, can't understand why it's different for arcade boards. I guess Paypal will take care of it...

Ahh.. much like my Baby Pac-man bezel that was shipped with 1 piece of saran wrap around it, then a flattened box taped around it leaving the corners exposed. Obviously it arrived in 1 million little glass shards.

Good luck. My experience is that they don't care about 'quality' vs 'description'. Either you got it or your didn't or it is not the right item (a toaster instead of a can opener). Perhaps they've changed, but a couple issues I had were denied because the seller shipped, showed delivery, and it basically looked like the picture.

Luckily the BabyPac bezel didn't look like the picture.. I won that. However the Q*Bert board set that was wrapped the same way--shipped on the backer board with 1 layer of cardboard wrapped around it and no packing whatsoever, had every nylon post sheared off and various capacitors and jumper pin blocks ripped off and the wire connectors bent/broken...looked like the picture of the item and therefore I got no compensation for all the damages thru PayPal.

Thankfully the seller dealt with it promptly. It's been refunded and sent on its way back. Can't imagine someone wouldn't mention rust on a "new pcb". Nevermind try to explain the shipping... I'm sorry Paypal didn't help you :(.

Remember, the words "new pcb" and NOS are totally different things. The board could have been NOS, but it could have been sitting on a shelf in a barn for 30 years.

New OLD stock, just means never used, not brand new.

I bought a NOS mikie pcb that looked new, sucker didn't work and I shipped it off for repair, and it couldn't even be fixed. real bummer

Poor Mikie :'(

I understand I shouldn't expect it looking like it came from the factory, but going back to my car analogy, it shouldn't be called new or NOS if it is covered in rust.
